My Home Tour for Poppies at Play and A Bowl Full Of Lemons Link Party

Poppies at Play has show a wonderul parade of homes this week and now Andy is hosting a link party of home tours.  I thought it would be fun to join and  also have a place where a current home tour was available.  I will also tell you about some changes coming, though nothing too major at the moment. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here is our humble home…
Pin
It is not warm and sunny yet… this picture was taken last Spring.  This Spring the door color is a-changing, as soon as the weather is warn enough for me to paint it!

Upon entering our split level home, we have a very teensy dresser as it is all that will fit the space.
Pin
Then you pretty much have to make the choice to go up or downstairs right away, or you will be stuck in the little foyer!  Let’s head upstairs first.  The dining room is situated just to the left of the foyer and has a railing that overlooks the foyer.  I use the area at the top of the stairs more as an “entry” though it is also part of the dining room.

The dining toom is actually in what was supposed to be the living room.  This room leads into a small room off the kitchen which is supposed to be the dining room but is too small to function for us, so we switched them.  Now that smaller room serves as a sitting area to chat with guests while I am in the kitchen.  We are hoping to remodel the kitchen and this area next year.
Pin
That is our dog bed in the corner, and also why we stay rug free in these areas! We have gone through a few rugs in our 4 years in this home and have just decided to go rug-free here.  The dogs have ruined all of the rugs we had. ๐Ÿ™‚  The view into this room is from the kitchen… The kitchen is small, but it functions for now!  I added a chalboard wall but haven’t made any major changes besides paint since I know it will undergo a major change as soon as we can afford it!  These photos are from Christmas, but the room has stayed the same, minus the view of the tree.
Pin
Pin
Pin
So now let’s head to the right of the stairs down the hall…
Pin
pardon Jake’s booty in the shot!
The first door on the left is our only full bathroom…
Pin
The bathroom is waiting for this shower curtain, and will be waiting until May.  boo.
Thomas Paul - SC-0105-CHR - Bath Octopus Shower Curtain in CharcoalPin

The second room on the left is our master bedroom.  I am working on a new headboard, as well as looking for new nightstands, but everything else will remain the same.
Pin

Pin

Off our bedroom is the teensiest half bath ever.  But at least we can brush our teeth there, and go to the bathroom conveniently. ๐Ÿ™‚
Pin
Pin
Pin
Across from our bedroom is Sawyer’s room….We are in the process of changing his room into a Star Wars style room.
Pin
I just added the polka dots, so they aren’t in this picture…
Pin
And this picture was taken before his new red rug was in there.
Pin
Emmy’s room is next to Sawyer’s and has been so much fun to do!
Pin
Pin
Pin
Heading back downstairs now, there are only two rooms and the basement/workshop area.  The playroom is where we try to contain most of the messes! ๐Ÿ™‚
Pin
PinThe family room is where we hang out as a family, watch movies together, and it also has my office/craft nook.
Pin
Pin
Pin

Pin

And there you have it!  Thank you so much for taking the time to take my home tour!

I know you posted this a few years ago but I saw your dining room on Pinterest and had to check the rest of your home out. Your home is very close to the same as mine. As in, the same basic layout but differing dimensions. I was first struck by how you use the intended living room as your dining room. We do too! The intended dining room was WAY too small. Also, we had the wall between the kitchen and the intended dining room removed so now we have a much larger kitchen. Again, like you, we use much of the intended dining room space as a place to have cushy seating. We hang out there in the mornings and when I’m cooking. Otherwise, we chill downstairs in our family room/play room. Anyway, you have done a great job with your house!
