New Addition to My Favorite Holiday Vignette

Remember my favorite woodsy holiday vignette?  Well it has a new addition.  I was at Goodwill on Monday, and found the deer in this picture of my loot…

Isn’t it cute?  Well to fit in here, I had to give him a makeover, which started with removal of the red bow.  Once that was gone, I spray primed him, and let that dry.  The I used a flat white spray paint to paint him all over.  Once that was dry, I painted him all over with Mod Podge and added clear glass glitter, because let’s face it… everything is better with glitter!  Here he is now, in his new home.  I love him!

Oh, he is so cute…I did the woodsy thing too, this year. I usually paint my “finds” but I am still undecided about the “prancing deer” I just love. A little kitchy in his hand painted state and I do love white and glitter…maybe next year. My mantel is here: http://meli-melo-art.blogspot.com/2010/12/christmas-mantel.html

Ooooooh, I LOVE the deer! He matches so nicely with your white owls! I’m totally going to have to keep my eye out for a little deer at my Goodwill now 🙂
