On Sand Dollars, Parcels, and SPONSORS!

First of all, I wanted to thank yhose who commented on the sand dollars yesterday.  I honestly had NO idea it was illegal to take any anywhere!  The beach I was at was a private resident only beach and I could not find anywhere in all my research that said it was wrong to do so there.  However, I am glad it was brought to my attention because I don’t want anyone else getting in any trouble!  I can also assure you that most (I would lie if I said all) of the sand dollars my kids and I found were buried back safely into the sand.  I let them each keep one since it was there first time finding one.

We arrived home safely today after spending a long 10 hours in the car…. we hit traffic between Richmond and DC.  My kids were tired, I was tired, but thank goodness we are HOME.  And there were two wonderfulyl lovely packages waiting for me!  I had seen a print at Vintage Junky from the Etsy shop, Valentina Design and ordered it for Emmy’s gallery wall. The color was perfect and I loved the saying. Here is the one I ordered…

But what, to my surprise, was also in my envelope from Valentina?  A couple lovely extras!

Not sure where the “You are Awesome” print will land yet, but here is the progress on Emmy’s wall.  Yes, I let my husband unload the car and bathe the kids while I pointlessly opened my mail and hung these prints.  Priorities, right?

Also waiting for me was a package from Stacey at A Sort of Fairytale. I had won a giveaway she was sponsoring at My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia.  Check out what was in the package!  Awesome raggy rosette trim, some glass knobs I can definitely put to good use, and a beautiful pillow cover with gorgeous shell buttons!  I can’t wait to put it all to use- thanks Stacey & Kristin!

And I want to take a moment to give a little Sunday shout out to all my wondeful sponsors!  I am going to show off my personal faves in store right now at each, with Spring in mind since the first day is TOMORROW!!!  Yippee!!!

Right now I am loving this Peace Necklace at Ooh La La Company. The inspirational quote says it all! “Peace: It’s good for all living things. With warmer weather on the way, I will be pulling out my boho style shirts, skirts, and flip flops, and this would be a great accent!
Peace Sign Charm Necklace - Good for all living things

Love this Swuare Peg Table from Curbside Creation’s Tossed & Turned. That bright green print just has Spring written all over it! It would be adorable next to a nursery rocker. I had a similar little table when my son was a baby, and it was the perfect spot to my drink, book, glasses, etc as I rocked him to sleep.

Nothing says spring like sweet juicy fruit! I love these Fruity Burp Cloths from Happy Baby Designs. At least if your baby is going to spit up on you, you may as well accessorize it nicely for the seasons! 🙂

With mother’s day around the corner, it’s the perfect time to think about ordering a photo charm. Wouldn’t grandma love to have photos of her grandkids around her neck? YES YES YES she would! Sodderbug is the perfect place to order a special gift!

I loooove this new Nautical Anchor Scarf from Vintage Dutch Girl. It’s the perfect accessory when you head out on the boat on those cool spring nights. (A girl can dream, right?)

Maps are one of the hottest trends right now, and these NYC Map Coasters are so cool, whether you are a city dweller fo realz, or just at heart. The colors are so vibrant and fun, they would actually be perfect for me playroom! hmmmm…..

And I just spied this Aqua Vintage Waste Basket from Studio1404. Do you see that gorgeous caning AND bamboo detail? It’s perfection!

And I love this Sunny Little Yellow Vintage Pail from Flea With Me. I think it would be the perfect place to put a gerbera daisy. Wouldn’t it just make you smile every time you saw it?

Thank you so much to my sponsors!!!!

Glad you got back safely! I was not aware of the sand dollars….good to know. Emmy’s wall looks amazing! I love your new prints. I like the sayings on your new ones….especially, “She Believed She Could So She Did”. It might be fun to hang “You Are Awesome” in your bathroom. A great spot to see it each morning and a great way to start your day. I was happy you won the giveaway on Kristin’s blog. That pillow is lovely.

Sand dollars are living creatures. It’s best to leave them where they are.

This is very late, but I just found your blog. I just wanted to point out that it’s only illegal to take sand dollars if they’re still alive. To find out if they’re living or not, gently run your fingers over the tentacles on the back. If they move on their own, it’s alive and you should put it gently back in the sand. If not, it is free for the taking!! This also goes for starfish too.
