Good Monday morning, guys! I am not gonna lie… I am dragging today! The kids are back in school after their break last week, and this mama is worn out from all the fun we had… and all the bickering, if I’m keeping it real. 😉 Despite my fatigue, I wanted to hop on to share some new art as a little One Room Challenge bonus, and also let you know about a sale Minted is having that ends today. Minted reached out and asked if I’d be interested in any of their gold foil art for my home, and I had one little space of black wall in our hallway that needed a little something. It doesn’t get much light, so gold foil art, which is reflective, was a perfect choice to brighten up a dark corner.
I searched the entire inventory of metallic foil art they have to find the pieces that spoke to me. As you can see, I chose a couple of pieces of the gold foil state art created by Geek Ink.
I selected Maryland not only because it’s the state we currently live in and have lived in for the past 10 years, but it’s also where Chris and I were married. If you’ve never been here, Maryland really has so much to offer… bays and delicious crabs and seafood, oceanside and wild ocean island horses, countryside and historic battlefields, proximity to DC, and the Cumberland area which boasts a great outdoor adventure and lake atmosphere. Baltimore, Annapolis, and Frederick all have great things to offer as well… Frederick being my favorite of the three as I think it’s the most charming, safe, and not too crowded.
Secondly, I chose the same gold foil state art from Louisiana. I mentioned last week why that state was so special to me… my kids were born there, and it’s where we began married life and discovered that we could weather any storm. (Katrina, I am looking at you!)
Up close you can see how detailed these maps really are with the outline of the roadways.
Together they make quite the pair! One thing they have in common is a pretty unique state shape. Everyone knows Louisiana is the boot, right? They also have amazing seafood, which happens to be my favorite, in common. Yum.
I love how the black, white and gold echoes into the adjacent bedrooms. Here you can see our makeshift no-cost guest room off of the hallway.
Looking back from that guest, room across the hall, we can see the master bedroom, which mirrors the white and gold foil in its nightstands.
I will be back with another ORC update later this week, but I wanted to share this one now in case you wanted to take advantage of the 20% off gold foil art which ends today. It applies to foil art, birth announcements, and wedding invitations. Just use the code SHINE at checkout. Click here to see all of Minted’s current promotions. Tomorrow a new graduation promo will be kicking off, too! Be sure to save their promo page for reference. 🙂
Now, it’s a rainy Monday morning, and as I mentioned… I am pooped! There might be a book and a cup of coffee in my very near future. Have a great day!
