Passing on a Piece of My Childhood & New Scentsy Winner

So before I get into what I am passing on to my kids (and both of them play with it), I wanted to share a couple things.  First of all, thank you all for your well wishes.  Sawyer is recovering well and the tooth fairy brought him an extra treat to make up for it!  Secondly, I wanted to share some words of wisdom with you.  Emmy and I were walking in the yard yesterday, and there were tons of dandelion petals floating in the air- so many that it really looked like flurries.  Emmy said, “All of our wishes are coming back down.  We sent them up to God and  he knows what we want.  He is sending them back to us.”  I asked her if she was learning about that at school or if she just knew it.   Her reply was “I just knew it.  Because God helps us get what we want.”  I just love the idea that all of our prayers are floating back to us and being answered that way.  Her little 5 year old mind is wise beyond its years.

And speaking of my kids, I have something related to them to share today.  Shocking-  Emmy’s room has yet another addition.  This past weekend out at a yard sale she spied with her little eyes an adorable dollhouse.  I told her I had mine from my childhood at home in a box.  It was put together, but needed to be decorated still, so we are going to do that.  When I pulled it out of the box, I found some pieces had broken off.  I am over at The DIY Club today sharing how I made the repairs.

And just when you thought we couldn’t squeeze another thing into her room, we managed to find a spot….

And finally, yes it is Thursday!  And that means that my friend Gwen will be on her way here soon!!!!  Gwen is coming to hang out with me and my crazy family for a couple nights!  Tomorrow we are meeting up with Jill (and hopefully Andi!) as well and headed out for thrifting and lunch.  I am so excited to finally meet Gwen in person- she is hilarious and true- good qualities to have in a friend!  And I met Jill through Gwen and am so excited to meet her, too.  We are going to all have a blast!  I am going to make sure I am stocked up on wine before she gets here. 🙂  And I will be sure to have my camera on hand at all times.

Also, I never heard from the first Scentsy winner, so the next in line is…

Kathy Moody

Kathy, email me at [email protected]  You have til Friday at 8 pm and then another new winner will be drawn.  Thanks!

Oh, and some of you wanted to see my hair darker.  I ran out of time at the salon in getting it dried, so it just dried wet, but here it is!
Before (last week)                                           After (it is darker than you can tell in the picture!)

Happy Thursday!

Love the way Emmy thinks! Children are so wise, they don’t complicate everything. So glad to hear it went well with Sawyer! Just thinking about it brought back my “not so fond” memories of the dentist!

That Emmy…such a sweet soul…brought tears to my eyes. Love the dollhouse, I think it would be fun to build and decorate one from scratch. Hair color looks great…we are twins now! 😉 And as for tomorrow, I will be there at least for lunch 🙂 Can’t wait! Miss you!

You’re dollhouse survived? I never had one, but always wanted one…so I could remodel and add-on. Even as a kid, I was into rehabbing homes 🙂 Emmy is lucky to have one with all the memories. And she’s very creative to have just known that.

Cute do! Can’t wait to meet up with all of you tomorrow!!

Ah, dollhouses–my sisters and I spent untold hours playing with ours growing up. Hope Emmy gets much enjoyment from hers!

Your hair looks great! I kind of want to darken mine just a touch like you did. My ends are always lighter and I need to hide some greys that keep sprouting up along the part. 🙂
