Howdy! I haven’t been doing a ton of furniture makeovers since I have been focusing on my house (more on that later this week!), but I wanted to take this chance to remind you all of the Habitat Heroes Link Party, where every piece linked up most be a piece of furniture being donated to a charity or cause somehow. The goal is to give back to the community and to the places where we discover many of our finds! So this week, I am sharing a dresser I will be donating to the local Goodwill.
This dresser was given to me by a client…. it was hers as a baby, and she had no more use for it but wanted it to be given some love. She gave it to me, as she thought I could love it. Unfortunately, I do not have a before picture, but had old creamy glossy dirty paint and some mint green on it as well. the knobs were wooden int green, chipped. It was just in a sad state! I gave the whole thing a sanding, and then mixed a color of chalk paint using Antibes Green, Napoleonic Blue, and Paris Gray. I wanted it to be closer to the Antibes Green, but not quite as bright. I gave it two coats of paint, and then used an idea I saw at Paint in My Hair. Here is the dresser that inspired my stripes….
Since I didn’t know who would be buying my dresser from Goodwill, I decided to keep it on the neutral side with green and then added stripes in Paris Gray. I gave it a good distressing and added some oil rubbed bronze knobs. Here it is….
I would encourage all of you to think about donating a piece to a good cause and share it at the Habitat Heroes Link Party! Oh, and buy the way, did I mention that by linking up you could possibly win $115 in gift cards from such places as Anthropologie? Yup.
Anyhow, let’s see what you have been working on this week!
