Piece of Work Wednesday Furniture Link Party Number 44!

July 12, 2011 by Cassie 26 Comments

Sorry I have been a little MIA.  We had showings each day this weekend as well as yesterday, so every time I have wanted to sit down and write I have been booted from the house!  Sunday we spent the whole day at my parents while there was a showing, and had a nice lunch with my parents and friends.  We were all exhausted, drove 45 minutes home, only to find out we had to leave in 30 minutes.  Let’s hope something comes of these showings soon!
Besides the showings, there was also a little bit of this going on…

Pin

That’s right- the carnival was in town!!!!  We took the kids last night and they had the best time I can remember them having at a carnival!  Emmy said “the carnival is the best place in the whole west!”  We live in the east of course, so not really sure where that comes from.  Sawyer said it was his favorite place in the world!  And we also came home with two new pet goldfish- both kids won!!!  Emmy’s fish is Ava, and Sawyer’s is Freddy Chewbacca Bustamante.  I hope they live.

So in between all of that I have managed to eek out a couple of projects.  This dresser was a free craigslist find..

Pin

You will have to head over to The DIY Club for the full tutorial of how I took it from that to this…

Pin

Pin

Head over there to read all about it, but I can tell you that I have a new found LOVE for Milk Paint!  Love it!!!

Oh, and I want to mention that you can link up any DIY projects into the monthly party going on over there for TONS of prizes from our awesome sponsors, like Gorilla glue, Rockler, Dischangers, Dutch Boy Paints, Cutting Edge Stencils, Design Divas… and MORE!!!!

Piece of Work Wednesday Furniture Link Party Number 31!

April 12, 2011 by Cassie 42 Comments

PinterestFacebookTwitter

When you were in college did you ever get just so excited to go out with your friends for the night and party, that you ended up being a little on the early side to the party and then you felt like a complete dork?  Well I did.  I still am neurotic about being on time for everything, and often am a little early.  Well, today I am so excited about this makeover, and heck, it’s my party.  So if I want to start it early, I can!  And if you to come and party early with me, then by all means!  You are in good company!

I am so excited about the makeover I have to share with you this week.  I was able to get away to the auction last week and found this charming desk.

Pin

See, it was charming, cottagey, simple…. even had vintage Holly Hobby contact paper in the drawer.  Cute, but not for me.  I wanted to give this desk a more sophisticated look!  Bring on the Newburg green paint!  Bring on the Lion’s head pulls (from my stash)! Bring on the cool wallpaper!!  And here it is after all the bringing on!

Pin

Pin

Pin

Pin

This cute little desk will be coming to the Lucketts Market with me next month!  And if it happens to come back home with me, it might move in permanently.  I think this desk and I might be prepared to take it to the next level, if you know what I mean.

So what have you been working on?
Be courteous.  Be kind. Rewind.  Follow the Rules.

1. Your entry MUST BE A FURNITURE MAKEOVER OR BUILD.
2. It must be new to POWW, meaning it can be an old link, but never before seen here!
3. Add my button to your post or sidebar.
4. Please make nice and visit other links.
5. NO etsy shops!
6. Rock on!

LOVE it! What a great color! I like the lion head pulls too. I would definitely keep that one too.

My furniture sadly isn’t done yet. I am having just a horrible time stripping it. Do you know if crackle finish is hard to strip? I have tried two times with the citrus acid strip and it just doesn’t want to come up. sigh….
