Piece of Work Wednesday Furniture Link Party Number 49!

August 16, 2011 by Cassie 22 Comments

This is the last link party I will be throwing from this house.  Kind of sad in a way.  Buying this house is what started my passion for redoing furniture, so it’s like the start of it all right here.  More boxes have been packed, and I have to admit that it is all really getting to me.  I am one of those people who feels agitated when the house is a mess, so image how shot my nerves are right now, with piles and boxes and piles of boxes everywhere!!!!  Just call me Gaga because “I’m on the edge.”  But she’s on the edge of glory and I’m on the edge of insanity.  Not quite the same, I guess.

I picked up this plain jane coffee table at the auction before Lucketts this past Spring.  It was not my favorite, but it was $10, so why not?  It sat and sat and waited for me to be inspired with what to do to it.    And I unfortunately can not find a before picture, so when you see the after just image it was brown.  It was.  Anyhow, inspiration never came on this one, so I decided just to paint it a happy cottage blue color.  I can see it in a quaint little cottage as it is petite in size.  I distressed the edges slightly to show off the details.

You never bore us, Cassie! Love the cottage blue table and it’s fun to hear what you’re up to as you walk along this new journey to the next chapter of your life. I am the same and get overwhelmed when things are a mess and chaotic but keep the end result in mind. It’s exciting! A new door is opening for you and you are following your dream!

Thanks for hosting, Cassie! Love the color of your table. I posted two turquoise projects myself. Actually, once I posted #40, I realized I think I posted it here previously, so you can delete it. I wasn’t able to delete it on my end. Sorry about that!

I hear ya. I washed an Oprah show once that said that if your house is a mess, you tend to be more stressed and unhappy. Luckily, your reason has a purpose with a terrific outcome.

Hang in there and know there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

BTW, the yellow watering can peaking in the background is cool!
