First of all, THANK YOU all so much for your sweet and supportive comments on yesterday’s post.  I am so thankful to you all for your kind words, and for sticking with me, whether there are 3 furniture makeovers a week or one or none.  You are the best!

Of course it is time for Piece of Work Wednesday, so I made sure I finished a small project for you this weekend.  I bought this mirror at a church yard sale last Spring for $3.

Don’t be deceived…. it looks better in the above picture than it was.  The gold paint appeared cheap and was flaking slightly.  I sanded it lightly by hand, and spray primed it.  Then I was so excited to put to use some of the Farrow & Ball paint I won in a giveaway from Sarah at Modern Country Style.  I received 3 sample pots, one of which was a color called “Blue Gray”.  It is a gorgeous color, but definitely appears a little more green gray to me.  Either way, I love how it changed the mirror.  After I painted it, I distressed it and rubbed a stain over it to give it an antiqued look.  Here it is now!

It definitely doesn’t look so cheap anymore, and has a classic European appeal! Can’t wait to try the other colors I got!

What have you been working on?  Please remember to follow the rules.

RULES:
1. Must be a follower of my blog.
2. Must be a FURNITURE redo or build.
3. Must be a new link to one of my parties.
4. No Etsy shops.
5. Place my button or a text link in your post or sidebar.

And please leave others some comment love!!

No furniture this week for you Cassie. Sorry. Taking a few weeks off for my 25 Day Series. I don’t think I ever linked up the post about the knobs I made for the cabinets in my bathroom. Does that qualify as a legitimate post?

GORGEOUS Mirror! I haven’t used Farrow and Ball, but I’ve heard nothing but awesomeness about it! I’m finally feeling better after 2 WEEKS of being sick. I feel SO behind on projects. :-/

Hi Cassie, that mirror looks fabulous now. Almost like aged copper or something. So beautiful.
I just saw your post from yesterday. I also had to step back from things when I gave up my booth and broke my arm. I am actually enjoying just doing stuff for us for a while (and some business consulting which is my main business). Hang in there Cassie, the fact that you are even thinking these things mean you are a great mum.
    Cheers Fiona

The finish on the mirror looks perfect, as though it was always meant to be that color!! Very professional job Cassie!
I think this is about the 3rd party I haven’t linked to (getting ready for my first market stall!) but I’ve already checked out a few others, there’s some talented people out there!!
    Cheers!

So how do you think that paint stacks up against other paints you’ve tried?

I do love that color. It sure did change the mirror a whole lot! I haven’t gotten around to using my samples yet. The little pots sure are cute 🙂

Beautiful mirror! I’ve never tried using stain over paint, but it looks amazing. Do you just brush it on and wipe it off?
