Piece of Work Wednesday Link Party News and INPUT NEEDED

Happy Almost Wednesday!  I am happy to say my migraine is gone… yay!  They really knock ya down.  I have been busy working on projects I can’t yet share (come back tomorrow morning for my FAVORITE PROJECT EVER!).

For the moment, there is no party; FIRST, I NEED FEEDBACK.  I use linky tools, which was a free tool  Now it has switched over to a paid tool.  I completely understand where they are coming from, but this blog o’mine is not really a “monetizing” blog.  So I wanted to ask you guys if you want the party to stay, as I will have to pay for it.  It will mean that I most likely will look into getting some adspace on my blog to recoup the costs to have it.  I need honest feedback here folks- let me know if you think it is worth it to you.  Thanks!!

    That is a bummer! I understand they need to make money….but I feel bad you would have to pay…sell Ads if you want, I don’t mind them. Personally, I like linky parties and you host one of the best. Please only do what works for you!

    You know I love you, right? I feel the need to preface my comment that way.

    I don’t do enough furniture makeovers to care…I do enjoy browsing sometimes, but it doesn’t really make a difference to me.

    And, I’m guessing the only people who are going to post here are the ones who want you to keep your party going.

    I think you really need to think about your goals…what are you blogging for? To provide inspiration? Get some appreciation for all the work you do? Teach people how to redo furniture? And/or try to make some money off of this?

    Have you seen Infarrantly Creative’s blog series? She talks about making the jump to advertisers.

    And….I’m wondering if another linky service will come up (for free) offering pictures. They have to know that they will be losing a lot of users by making it subscription based. And those users are going to be looking for another “service.”

    Love the linky party but if you aren’t really wanting to monetize your blog then don’t pay for it. I’ll still read it regardless. Hopefully you will still show your pieces so that we can see how awesome they are and then maybe people could email you and you could choose a couple more pieces to showcase. Go with whatever you are comfortable with. Glad you are feeling better!

    I didn’t know they were charging now, too. Cassie you are so thoughtful to ask what your readers would like. I think if you take a step back for a day or two and think about what you want blogging to look like for your lifestyle you will find peace in that. No matter what you decide we will all continue to adore and stalk you 🙂

    oh, girl, I’m sorry. I had already decided since there are so many great parties out there weekly, that I would add a community page to the new site instead, and do the linky parties occasionally.     I just started a party and they start charging? My parties are not that popular yet butI don’t have a lot of ads either. so i’m right there with you. 8>(

    I really LOVE a good party, and your is great! BUT, I don’t often have furniture to share. When I do, I’m thrilled I get to link up though. I do like seeing all the inspiration though. Tough call. I don’t think ads on a blog is a bad thing at all. Sorry I’m not too helpful here. I would say do what YOU want to do 🙂

    Sorry I’m late!! I’ve been really bad about blog reading and linking up lately. I’m trying to get better, though!

    Anywho, I saw last week when I did my link party that they were going to start charging. Guess I better head over and see how much it’ll be.

    I’m interested in buying ad space over here when you have more room. Just let me know. 🙂
