Piece of Work Wednesday Link Party Number 7!

October 26, 2010 by Cassie 30 Comments

Howdy!  It’s my favorite time of the week…. time for Glee!  Oh, and Piece of Work Wednesday, too.  I have a project I am so excited to share with you tonight.  I found these little cintage nesting tables or stools for $15 on craigslist.  I had no idea what I was going to do to them, but when I opened the cragislist link, the voices in my head told me to buy them.  So I did.

I contemplated Mod Podging owls cut out of paper, then Mod Podging just paper on the entire tops, and then I contempated numbering them, as I have seen done a few times before, by Kristine of The Painted Hive, and Gina of 3 Ring Cottage.  I primed and painted them white to serve as a base for whatever I was going to do.  I went with numbering, and I decided to write out the numbers, using stencils and Americana by Deco Art acrylic paint. I did my best to center them, but they’re not perfect.  Once that was all dry, I distressed them by hand, rubbing over the entire surface.  Then I mixed some gray Americana by Deco Art paint and Deco Art’s antiquing medium, and brushed it on and wiped it off.  Here is the result!

These are going to be at my desk in the family room and serve as stools.  that way I have somewhere to meet with clients.  And can I just add because I am mature like that, I think number two stools are funny.  Enough said.
So what furniture projects have you been up to?  You have til Thursday night to link them.

Love those and especially dig the way they nest like that. How handy for when extra people drop by.

Hee! Hee! Gotta love that number two. Maybe I’m just getting in the Halloween mood, but they kind of look like spiders all stacked up. Seriously, great job…as usual.

Ooooh! I love these stools…all of these “numbered” projects I’ve been seeing lately have inspired me!

P.S. I grew up down the street from Mark Salling (“Puck” in Glee)…now that I know you’re a fan of the show, I may have to grab an autograph for you if he happens to be home for Thanksgiving this year. 🙂

Haha! I laughed…No. 2…..hee. These are so cute. I love the numbered stool look. I want to do them on my friends stools, but how can I do it on someone else’s? Sneak over there in the middle of the night? No? I’ll think on it some more.
