Play, Defined

About a month ago, I won a giveaway at Infarrantly Creative for a vinyl word definition created by Say it on the Wall.   I could choose from several definitions, but I knew right away that I wanted to get “Play” for my kids playroom.
I started with a piece of birch wood in 2′ x 2′ x 1/2″.  I had painted it in an attempt to make a Christmas decoration that was probably best suited for regretsy, so I am  not sharing that picture.  I would lose all followers immediately.  Instead, you only get the after.  I painted the board over with DecoArt Tomato Red paint.  The I used a DecoArt white paint and very lightly dry brushed the board and hit the edges a bit to give it a slightly worn look.  Then I added the vinyl.  Easy Peasy.  My kids are thrilled with their new artwork!  I will show you the art on the wall, but I will not show you the rest of the room, as the kids have been defining “play” all over this room.

That is so cute for a playroom! And it’s such a great idea to put it on a piece of wood so it is portable in case you ever want to move it. And of course the red with the white words is a perfect combination. Love it!

Isn’t that sweet. I can’t believe you had the patience to adhere all of that vinyl, AND get it straight. I’m gonna need some lessons.
    Fabulous job.

cassie!! I love it! Great job painting it. (I won’t insist on seeing the other, but I’m curious)
guess what! I won from Laura too (Someday Crafts)
I’m thinking about getting a definition also. I’m already nervous about putting the vinyl on.

This turned out great, Cassie! The red is fun and I love the definition of the word play. I like “song or silly dance”. It’s perfect for the kid’s room.
