Hello, that is a long title! I can’t stand using such long titles, but sometimes ya just gotta get it all in there. Monday I shared with you the “Narnia” door, and today I want to share more updates to the playroom (which I am doing as part of Fall In Love!).
I knew I wanted to hang a gallery wall in a grid form above the sectional; there was a great big expanse of white as you can see here:
I knew I was going to use the Ikea Ribba frames for whatever art I selected because they are sleek, come with a mat, and are super affordable. Based on the measurements of the wall and frames, I figured out a layout that would work best and came up with two rows of 5, for a grid of 10 frames.
Once that was established, I could move onto artwork. I LOVE The Animal Print Shop, and knew I had to have some of these prints in our playroom. (By the way, this is not sponsored- I just really love the prints and was excited to have them!). The kids were each told to select two from the “Little Darlings” collection, and I chose one. Sawyer chose the wolf and lion, Emmy chose the deer and bunny, and I chose the bear. As my birthday gift, my awesome mother in law ordered them for us! That took care of 5 of the frames, and I needed to come up with something for the other 5.
I decided to create my own art with quotes from the books that inspired this space: The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, Lemony Snicket’s Series of Unfortunate Events, Alice in Wonderland, and The Wizard of Oz. I wanted them all to be black and white, but with different fonts, and I used picmonkey to create the designs I wanted. I saved them all and sent them on to Staples to be printed on photo quality paper and they came out beautifully, and for just over $5 total!
I framed them in my Ikea frames, and then the hardest part was hanging them. They aren’t perfect, and there might be a few extra holes behind those pictures, but I am happy with it!
And I apologize for the slight glare- I turned off lights, and tried every angle!
Now let’s take a closer look at the actual artwork.
I really love the pairing of the sweet animal faces with the black and white graphic quotes.
I still have loads of last minute things to do, but this room is getting there! (You may have noticed I painted the trim, too!). Hoping to get everything checked off this week, and next Wednesday will share the entire space.
And now guess what? I am providing you with the links for these printables so you can have them, too!
Just click on the link below each image to download.
Have a great day!
