Happy POWW!  Hope your week is off to a good start!  We are gearing up for summer here!  This week marks the last week of school for Sawyer, the last dance class for Emmy, and her recital this coming weekend.  With that in mind, we updated our chalkboards.

The chalkboard that hangs over my coral desk was filled in with our summer to do list!

And the dining room chalkboard was updated with a sweet and simple quote.

And now, my friends, the Bustamante household is ready for summer!  (enter delirious maniacal laughter).  Are you guys ready for summer?  I tell you what, I am ready for slow mornings!

Before I get to today’s project, a huge thanks to Cheri for featuring Sawyer’s room today!

So last week I shared with you my funky lone soldier:

Today I am over at the DIY Club sharing all the details of how I made over the pair that went with it.

Here is a quick peek….

So now let’s see your furniture projects!

RULES:
1. Your post must be a completed original project and must be a furniture redo or build.
2. Your post must be new to my parties- do not link something you have shared on this blog before.
3. You must be a follower to party here.

    Hey Cassie 🙂

I know you’ve already seen my sideboard but I was too late to put it in your POWW last week so have added it now.

So funny to think of you guys gearing up for summer when we are just starting winter! I LOVE summer and the kids having long holidays and the slow mornings too. Obviously we have Christmas thrown into the mix for our summer, and I don’t know any different but could imagine the summer season without it being VERY relaxing!

I love that you wrote that list on your chalkboard, so cool…enjoy!

    xx Karen

I switch out the quote on our chalkboard every couple of weeks, too. Love that RWE quote! I may have to use it when our summer actually starts in a couple of weeks(NY schools get out late.) Thanks for sharing.

Ditto with Karen!! Summer without Christmas in there would be so much more relaxing!! We’ve got our heater cranked up at the moment!!
Love, love your summer list too, what a fantastic idea!!!
Thanks, as always, for hosting! Have a fun filled week 🙂

I was surprised to see fire flies the other night. But I guess it is June. How’d that happen?

Love your blog – drifted over after reading The Bold Abode. I barely dust my furniture much less fix it up so can’t add a link but I can go visit some.

I love that your summer to do list on that gorgeous chalkboard! That is funny, great minds think alike. My kids and I made our summer “to do” list Sunday night too. Our is not nearly as cute thought, it is on a piece of scrap paper hanging on the refrigerator. Rachel wanted to to be the scribe, so she got to choose where it was being recorded. She also included her personal comments on which outings and activities were “absolute musts”!

I think that list is precious and should be what summer is all about – this is what memories of summer months are made of 🙂 It is like a novel waiting to be written, Cassie.

I love your summer “to-do” list, both the project and the list! This will be my first summer with my DIY blog, and I’m wondering how you manage it in between summer/kids and having fun? I’m trying to figure that out now and I’m thinking my blog just may be a lot different this summer than it has been…and focus on the fun.
