Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a good start. The kids are each in camp this week in the mornings- Sawyer at soccer camp and Emmy at gymnastics camp. After being on vacation and not yet having had a break from one another all summer, I think this week will be very good for them. And me and my sanity!!
I thought I would share with you a table I did a month or so ago. I bought this table when Gwen was with me in May. I got it with 3 chairs at a yard sale for a total of $25.
You may recall, I shared the complete chairs already: here and here.
The table had a gorgeous shape, but the top was covered in formica. The legs were made of a combination of cast iron and wood. I thought it was the perfect piece for some DIY chalk paint since I needed great adhesion. I apparently forgot to take a true before picture, but you can sorta see it behind the chairs there…. see? Just crane your neck… yep, there it is!
I mixed up a couple colors I had on hand…. mostly Benjamin Moore Yarmouth Blue with Wedgewood gray, and added a mixture of water and plaster of paris to my paint. I gave the table two coats, distressed it by hand, and then went over it with Minwax Golden Oak to warm and age it a bit. Then I went over all of it with Minwax paste wax for protection. And here is the final result….
The woman who bought it was SO sweet- she said she had been looking for something just like it and was thrilled. She even sent me a picture of it in what she called her “dream dining room”. Doesn’t it look perfect?!
Now, let’s see what you have been working on!
1. Your post must be a completed original project and must be a furniture redo or build.
2. Your post must be new to my parties- do not link something you have shared on this blog before.
3. You must be a follower to party here.
6. Leave others some comment love!
