Happy Saturday!  Yesterday was Sawyer’s adenoid and tonsil surgery.  The plan was for our whole family to head to the hospital.  Unfortunately Pukey MyPukeypants aka Emmy had other plans as she has thrown up for 3 days now.  So Chris and Emmy dropped Sawyer and me off at the hospital.  Everything went so smoothly and he is recuperating beautifully.  However, I will say that as a mom, it was the hardest thing I have done.  I held his hand as he went under, and then Nurse Ozzie said “All right, Mom.  This is it if you want to give him a kiss…”.  The words “this is it” just set me off to the scary realization that sometimes things do go wrong.  I sat and waited, watching his tracking number in the waiting room.  When his number changed from “OR” to “Recovery” I was thrilled, and waited to be buzzed any second.  When I was buzzed back, I walked into a crying, scared, delirious, and in pain Sawyer with his hands reaching out for me, hysterical.  It killed me to see him like that.  I am so thankful that so far I have lived one day of my life in the hospital with Sawyer (aside from his birth).  Heather and Patricia- I was thinking about the two of you all day.  One day killed me, so I can’t begin to think of what you have gone through and love you both so much.
Anyhow, after a good nap in the hospital, Sawyer woke up tooting and making jokes about it, and laughing and flirting with the nurses, so I knew he was OK.  Thank you to all who said a prayer for us.

Don’t forget today is the LAST DAY to enter my SHABBY APPLE GIVEAWAY!

Onto the features…..WOW, what a party this week with loads of goodness!
I have got to show off this chair, because it was the project Michelle from Prudently Painted Vintage used  one week in One Month to Win It.  I vote each week (and you don’t know whose projects you are voting for) and I voted for this one! So I was so excited to learn it was Michelle!  Oh, and by the way, the fabric is painted, too.

Lisa from Turning the Tables is in the process of designing a nursery for soon to be baby Oliver!  She enlisted the help of her brother in law on this dresser, and it came out beautifully!
Pin

Jannet from Simple Matters also had a stand-out yellow piece!  Check out this fabulous sideboard…. I can see why she is keeping this one!

Marcia from Sugar and Spice in the Land of Balls and Sticks upholstered this chair and gave the legs a cool gold dipped treatment!  I love the chic result!

And finally, this desk from Underground Updates is so unique… i love the non-symmetry!  It adds interest and charm!

Enjoy your weekend!

SO glad to hear the surgery went well. I agree that watching your child go through any kind of surgery is a nightmare for the mama…hope this is the LAST for you.

This brought tears to my eyes. My little one had the same surgery 4 years. While it was the best choice I made for her, it was a hard choice. I totally feel ya. When they wheeled her away in that little wagon and she waved to me sleepily, I broke down. Ahhh…. being a mom. SO glad things went well with Sawyer… will continue to send prayers for recovery!!

Glad to hear the surgery went well. When our little one had surgery, he was freaking out so much before that they gave him some “happy juice” to calm him down before wheeling him away. He was a riot once that kicked in.

Thanks so much for including my chair in with these awesome features! That desk just makes me smile – Love it!

That must have been SO hard!! Poor Sawyer!! But I am so glad that he is ok, and back to his adorable, charming self. I am so sorry about Emmy too. Hopefully she gets over it soon and doesn’t have to go through that again for a long time. YAY for all of your picks, and thank you so much for featuring my dresser!!!!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy Saturday! xo

Yuk! I am so sorry she is sick! That is the worst. My youngest son got thrown up ON last month at school….by his nemesis, no less. I was able to offer consolation as I had been thrown up on in first grade myself. Hope the little boy is healing! That can be a tricky surgery to recover from…some dr.s use glue to seal the wound and it can open in the throat and gush. Be careful and go slow! andrea@townandprairie

It’s so hard to watch them hurt! Will be praying for a speedy recovery for him and rest and peace for you!!

So glad Sawyer is doing well. I’ve spent my fair share in the hospital with Bear and every moment is full of anxiety. No matter how routine, it’s always scary when it’s your child. Hope both of your littles recover quickly.
