My birthday is coming up, and the one thing I wanted this year was a shiny new bike! Since I am no longer teaching classes at the gym, I have been getting a little softer around the edges. Before I ever taught classes, my exercise of choice was riding my bike. When we lived in Austin, TX waaay back in 2002, I used to ride all the time and I truly loved it. Of course, I was a bit of an off-road rider then, but age has changed me and now I’d like to stick to the roads. So my parents and Chris pitched in and I was able to get my new bike this week, and of course I bought it from Cora’s family, as they own the Bike Doctor franchise in Linthicum. This is what my shiny new bike looks like in Gloss Berry….
And this is what I look like after riding it….
I don’t think you can tell just how sweaty I am in that picture, but I am pretty darn sweaty. What you can see is how happy I am. Chris brought it home Tuesday evening and I immediately took it out for a ride. The hills around us nearly killed me, but it just felt so good to sweat like that, and to ride again. Even though it was a 100 degree day, I was creating my own breeze, and loving it. (Please note this picture was taken after I removed my helmet- I did in fact where one!)
This week has been somewhat chaotic, and slightly rainy, but I was able to get in one more ride yesterday after dropping the kids off at VBS. And if it’s nice after I get home from the Barn Sale today, maybe I will get another in! Remember to stop by and see me there from 10-5!
Anyhow, this was another “smack-me-in-the-face-with-your-amazing-talent-and-make-choosing-faves-REALLY-hard” kind of week. But I consider that a good thing!
First of all, I LOVE this woodland whimsy dresser SO much from Dear Emmeline! LOVE love love! I love it so much that next week I am bringing Jessica, the blog author, breakfast in the hopes that I can steal it. Muah ha ha! If I can’t slide it under her nose, at least we can hang out and eat and let the kids play!
I always love a good map project, and I think this little round table from Lake Cottage Dreams was just perfect for it! So sweet!
OK, you guys! This hutch was once a bookcase! It was painted, turned upside down, and molding was added and now look at it! Way to go Thistewood Farm! Somebody was using their noggin.
My mother in law pinned an armoire-turned-liquor cabinet for me the other day and she said it was an excellent use of furniture. My response to her was that anytime a piece is repurposed to store wine or liquor, it was an “excellent use.” Bliss Ranch, excellent use of a dresser, my friend!
I always love a good pedestal table! This dining table from Between Blue and Yellow is SO pretty! Love the wood top and the beautiful base!
Reposhture shared this creative use of a garage door panel…. as a bench! Seriously amazing thinking out of the box there.
Upcycled Home Blog shared this amazing chair! I could not leave a comment as I do not have a wordpress ID, but I am telling her now….. LOVE it! the color, fabric, SHAZAM! (FYI, this was linked from her blog and NOT her etsy shop which is why it was allowed)
Apple House Revival shared this amazing fainting couch! LOVE the color, the piping, the skirt! Makes me want to faint!
Three Mango Seeds showed off this glossy red bamboo table and I have some serious glossy red bamboo envy going on. And now you do, too. You’re welcome.
And NOW, now you see…. amazing projects people! Keep them coming- you guys are so inspiring! Happy weekend!
