I don’t have the words to start this post. I have been wondering how on Earth one helps a grieving mother, and I have not come up with any answers, except to keep sending them all my positive thoughts and prayers.
Many of you may know or know of Anna from An Inch of Gray. When I was away in Los Angeles I heard the devastating news that her 12 year old son, Jack, had died tragically in the flooding that devastated the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.

Anna and I know each other on a comment type level, and the occasional email. When I heard the news, I was stunned. I can not imagine the pain and devastation of a loss like that. I immediately emailed her to ask what I could do. She wrote back and just asked me to keep on praying. I am doing that, and I ask that you do all the same. But Anna also posted on her blog the other day a way that you can contribute in Jack’s honor. If you can help in any way shape or form, or just spread the word, please do. No mother, father, or little sister should be going through what their family is going through.
And for Anna, I found this quote which I think is beautiful and true.
“And if I go while you’re still here…
know that I live on, vibrating to adifferent measure behind a thin veil you cannot see through. Youwill not see me so you must have faith. I wait the time when we can soar again, both aware of each other. Until then, live your life to its fullest, and when you need me just whisper my name in your heart…I will be there.”~Author Unknown
Anna, please know that we are all thinking of you, praying for you. Jack will always be in your heart, and always be in your family. And when you need him, close your eyes and whisper his name, and I know you will feel him in your heart. Much love to you, friend.
