A client of mine recently emailed me and she had found two dressers at a yard sale she wanted painted. She had to bring them one at a time, so we started off by working on this one, which is going in her son Ryder’s room.
So it started off rather plain and simple, and my client wanted it to have a more rustic and boyish look, like this dresser I did back in December.
This dresser’s look had been achieved with layers of stains. I tried it with this dresser, but because the base was lighter pine, it just wasn’t working out so well. here is what I was ending up with…
I wasn’t happy with it so I emailed my client and suggested painting it our in Ben Moore’s Aura Rocky Coast. She trusted my judgement, so that’s what I did. I distressed the body and stained it with Minwax Golden Oak, and refinished the top with Minwax Provincial, and here was the end result.
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend! We just had dinner at my parents with the ‘rents, my kids, my brother, and his girlfriend. I love her!!! She is wonderful and I am so glad to have met her! She’s a great match for him, she’s beautiful, funny, and creative. And she is wonderful with my kids. I don’t say these things lightly- I really really love her and hope she is here to stay. I only wish they lived closer.
