Seen, Heard & Tasted 5: Links for Your Weekend

It’s Friday, and not only that but the weekend before Halloween!  We’ll be going to a school Halloween dance, trunk-or-treating and attending a chili cook-off at my friend’s church, finally getting to the pumpkin patch and carving pumpkins, and squeezing in a sleepover, soccer game, and birthday party.  Phew… I am tired just thinking about it!  This week absolutely flew by as I worked on Emmy’s room each day for the One Room Challenge and let the rest of the house go to pot…. It’s a hot mess in here.  There will be time for cleaning later though; right now, it’s time to bring you seen, heard & tasted and share some inspiring links for your weekend.  Please remember to pin from original sources.

Seen: This home featured on Apartment Therapy has me wishing for moody gray walls… again.  It’s all very cyclical with me.  Paint it black; paint it white; paint it charcoal; paint it white.  That’s how I roll and probably will until the walls have closed in on me with layers of paint.  Anyhow, doesn’t this gray pair beautifully with the brass?  Oh and I have that lamp; I found it on clearance at HomeGoods because there was a little chip in it.  I call it distressed.apartment-therapy-gray-room

Heard: This Town by Niall Horan is my new favorite song.  It’s pure sweetness.  I actually had no idea who he was, or that he was part of One Direction, but you know I do love my young adult music and books! 😉

Tasted: This week I did a lot of  “use what you have” cooking and made up my own potato crusted quiche using leftover potatoes, eggs from our chickens, and I topped it with roasted green tomatoes from the garden (what was left that wasn’t going to turn).  I’ll try to recreate it and photograph it another time because it was quite tasty!  I also tried this maple cinnamon roasted butternut squash. My kids did not like it at all, but they are uber picky.  I loved it and used leftovers in an omelette the next day.maple-roasted-butternut-squash-is-an-easy-simple-side-dish-for-fall-e1450174096565

I hope you all have a spoooktacular weekend!

I think the whole gray wall trend passed me by before I ever got to paint any walls gray. Is it back already?! Or maybe it never actually left, and I haven’t been paying enough attention….
