Snowman Painting and Mirror Color Help!

First of all, I mentioned last week that my kindergartener, Sawyer, stayed after school Friday for a snowman painting project.  I thought I would share his masterpiece.

One year ago, this boy had no interest in art or coloring even.  He would rush through projects just to finish them.  Imagine my sadness as someone who loves to find crafty things to do with my kids!  Now, he will sit and color for a while, and loves to do craft projects!
Moving on from my proud mama moment…
I found this mirror at my local goodwill for $25.

It’s huge!  I am planning to paint it and hang it in my entry which now looks like this (It will replace the gold one I stuck their for the moment)…

The tables will shift over to the right a bit.  Now my dilemma is do I paint it white, or do I go with a color?  My dining room is pretty neutral, so it can’t be anything too bold.  I am thinking maybe glossy white, glossy charcoal gray, or perhaps a variation of a blue or aqua?  Maybe even a darker blue?  I am leaning towards the wihite, but I figured I would consult my design panel (you guys!).  Let me know your thoughts.
Here is the dining room right off the entry so you see the color scheme….

Ok, what do you think???

we know I’m no expert, but we also know I’m sort of stuck in the blue/gray mode right now.
how about the aqua with a gray glazing or vice versa.
thinking aloud, don’t hold it against me if it sounds totally stupid, k?

I think an oiled bronze color or a pewter would be awesome!

I had the same questions when I did my big gold mirror….you could try some color…we all know how easy it can be changed to white if you don’t love it. I did white to go with the mantel. Can’t wait to see!

I think white would be beautiful with a grey or pewter glaze.

I love Sawyer’s masterpiece! I think you need to frame that. How sweet. I vote for a nice pop of turquoise on your mirror. I think that might be kind of fun in your room. Whatever color you decide will be perfect.

Some shade of turquoise would look nice, but it’s always safe to go with white. Good luck ,can’t wait to see how it turns out.

You can’t go wrong with white, or charcoal gray. But I’m looking at your glittery “hope” and I think that color would be awesome on the mirror.

I think a muted turquoise would be beautiful! And you can always re-paint it white if you don’t like it (: It would be a fun place to have a pop of color! Ps. Love the art work by Sawyer. SO adorable!

Hmmm, fun! I say use color. A pop of glossy turquoise or bright orange would look really great with your dining room/entry colors.

Glossy gray all the way baby! I love your dining room with the modern chairs and the two antique hutches! So fabulous! I think a pop of color…..or a really glossy modern gray over that ornate frame would be perfection.

    for what it’s worth……:)
