Some Subtle Changes & Star Wars Lego Pillows & A Sneak Peek

March 5, 2012 by Cassie 59 Comments

PinterestFacebookTwitter

I’ve got the fever… Spring FEVER!  And I have been making some small changes around the house.  I am sharing a few with you today.  WARNING: photo overload!

First of all, a little bluebird of happiness landed in the guest room….

Pin

I also added a bench at the end of the guest room bed.  I had it out on the porch, but changed the porch up a little, so I sanded this piece down a little more, waxed it, and now it resides here.

Pin

You can also sneak a peek of a very cool antique bucket I bought one year at the Lucketts Spring Market.

Pin

In the living room, I have been bringing in some green accents like this big green glass jug, and I added a little green lettuce leaf bowl of fake lemons. (Both pieces are vintage finds I had on hand due to being a hoarder).

Pin

I also added some green glass to the mantle, and kept it pretty simple with whites, aquas, and greens…

Pin

And yes, we are totally watching Strawberry Shortcake.  We love it, thank you berry much.

Pin

Pin

In the dining room, I have also added a little Spring to the sideboard.  I added a bunting I made last year…

Pin

I kept out my squirrel vase, mercury glass owl, and added a stack of HomeGoods butterfly plates froma few years ago.

Pin

And at the other end I added an Anthropologie plate from a couple years ago, and this awesome mercury glass mushroom that my amazing friend Lisa sent. It’s meant to go in Emmy’s room and it will as soon as I have her room put together and have some shelves for display.  For now I am enjoying it here…

Pin

Now, my mom recently made Emmy some awesome white ruffled curtains which I will show you when I am ready, but she also made these fabulous pillows for Sawyer’s room using her creative abilities and his Star Wars lego book.   Freaking amazing they are, yes?  On this bed Yoda resides, mmmm.

Pin

And Annakin on the other….

Pin

And apparently Jake has been residing on the guest bed by the window as well when we aren’t home…. Mental note to shut the door when we leave! (This photo is of lots of white dog fur, though it’s hard to see in the picture!)

Pin

Have you been Springifying your home as well?

Aside from these small changes, I am working on some bigger changes as well.  Here is a sneak peek of a  project I worked on this weekend….

Pin

Do you have any guesses?

I’m a big fan of putting a bench at the end of the bed in a guest room. Gives people a place to put their suitcase and not have to leave it on the floor.

Guesses… some kind of tree mural? I’m excited to see it. Whatever it is, it looks super cool!

Your mom did an awesome job on the Star Wars cushions – I bet your son loves them 🙂

Your last project looks kind of like woodgrain painted on a wall. Curious to see what it actually is 🙂
