First off, I have to say a HUGE thank you to Anna from Directions Not Included. She wrote a post a few weeks ago about awesome glittered skulls! I loved them and at the time we were not yet in our house, and I was sad for my Halloween decor in storage. I commented,
“is it sad that i am excited to move into my house next week and get out my halloween decor, including my glittered skulls?!?!?! who needs dishes… i need my glittered skulls pronto! yours look so awesome! love the colors!!!”
Following my comment, Anna and I had a conversation, and she wanted to send me some Halloween cheer for the new abode. I was SO excited when a package arrived in the mail today and it was full of Halloween goodies! My kids were home when I opened it as well, and they were almost as excited as me! She sent this adorable wreath…
And of course some sparkling skulls! LOVE these!
And some bats! My kids and I had fun hanging these up!
Anna, thank you SO much for the Halloween goodies and bringing the spooky spirit of the season to our new house! By the way, if you have not visited Anna, go check out her blog. It is full of awesome ideas such as this fabulous craft space!
I would also like to thank Deneen from Dreaming in Color for sending me an adorable Fall pin! I won a giveaway on her blog and got to choose if I wanted a pin or hair clip. My head is, um, small. So big clips look silly on me. I went with the pin. Here it is on one of my fave Fall sweaters. And here I am, still in my clothes from my walk this morning, no makeup, unshowered, and a bobby pin in my hair. But I am rockin’ the pin!
And here is a better picture of the pin! ๐ I love the mossy green color!
Thank you so much, Deneen for a beautiful addition to my Fall accessories! And if you haven’t visited Deneen’s blog, you should go to see her awesome makeovers! This dresser is pretty famous all over blogland, and I still love it.
And now how bout a couple sneak peeks from around my house!
Emmy’s new quilt arrived this week. We switched her to a full sized bed that I purchased from my friend Heather with the money going towards Cora, of course. Heather will actually be using the money to help switch around her kids rooms now that Cora is home from the hospital. The bed had been Andrew’s (aka Captain CORAgeous!), but Heather had not ever loved it for him. I had always loved it and remembered she had been trying to sell it so I asked her about it and low and behold she still had it! I ordered a quilt from Urban Outfitters. It arrived yesterday and is perfect with the antique iron bed! It is also soooo soft. Here it is on her bed! She will be getting more pillows and shams, too, but for now, this will do.
And finally, onto a sneak peek of what I think is going to be my favorite room in the house! Our couches and rug from West Elm arrived yesterday as well. And Target had a sale on these pillows for $15 each. They were the perfect size and color!
I thought I would work on one room at a time, but as things are found I am finding it just kind of going bit by bit. Oh, and after the guest room bed dilemma, I think I have found a new headboard that is even a little more “glam”. It will get the same paint treatment of course! Chris is going to pick it up Sunday and it is $35, so not too bad at all! Just need to find a home for the current full sized bed!
OK, see you all tomorrow morning with another awesome Friday guest!
