Starting a Spring Bedroom Refresh with Crane & Canopy (and A Sweet Clover Announcement!)

Happy Thursday, everyone!  The weekend is getting close and I could’t be more excited.  I have some MAJOR plans involving some amazing bloggers…. BIG NEWS at the end of this post!
Before I get to that, I want to share with you a little master bedroom refresh I am working on.  Recently I was contacted by Crane and Canopy to review their bedding.  I was so excited because frankly I had been feeling like our master bedroom needed a kick in the pants.  Our bathroom vanity are which sits off the master bedroom is getting updated, so they kind of go hand in hand.   I still love the navy walls, and my turquoise dresser, nightstands, and most of the furniture, really…. but I want to change out the rug, and I wanted to ditch our vintage bates style coverlet for something a little more modern.
I looked over the Crane and Canopy website and perused all of their bedding collections.  I decided on the Linden Monaco Blue duvet cover and shams.  I loved its classic look, and Chris really loved it, too. Not that his opinion on home design matters much to me, BUT it’s always nice when he likes it. 😉  He usually just refrains from opinion.
I did not have an insert, so I ordered that as well. (They provided the duvet set, and I paid for the insert).  I just wanted to mention it as well since we are really happy with its quality!  We ordered the luxe down alternative insert, and it’s a perfect weight for us, and not clumpy at all!  We ordered the king size even though our bed is a queen… I prefer my linens to have plenty of room on either side since I tend to roll a lot in my sleep.
Anyhow, how about we get to the pretty pictures so you can see it at work in our bedroom.  I love how it plays nicely with our existing bedding, and the pom pom shams I made last year.

I just love this classic blue border, and the color could not be more perfect.

I have changed up the accent pillow as well…. Nothing says Spring like bugs… they start crawling out of hiding.

Do you like my circa 1996 Sony alarm clock with radio?  It still works, so I won’t be tossing it any time soon.  It’s basically another chic vintage accessory at this point in time.

And now do you see that I need a new rug?  This one is just not working for me in there now…. I am thinking a black and white stripe (the infamous Ikea one) or perhaps an indigo rug… Any thoughts?

I am thinking of the black and white as I want to bring some more black into the space in the form of art.  The bathroom vanity was recently painted black, and I want to create flow between these two spaces.  Here’s a view and a sneak peek of the vanity in black…

I really love how the Crane and Canopy bedding is already making the room feel fresh and crisp, and brightening the whole space.

Now onto my weekend plans!  I could not be more excited because Sweet Clover is putting on a special event!  We are hosting our first ever Open Air Artisan Marketplace, featuring Denise Sabia and her Crafty Camper!

You all know Denise from her popular blog, The Painted Home.  She will be teaching 3 craft classes in her camper as well- click here for details!
As if it couldn’t get any better… it does!  Denise is bringing along one of her besties, Kelly of Eclectically Vintage, for the road trip adventure!  These amazing ladies will stay with me for two nights of FUN!  (And by fun I mean I will be the sober driver taking them around Frederick since I gave up wine and other alcohol for Lent)!  And just you wait because it keeps getting better…… Kirby from Kirb Appeal is also going to drive up here and hang out with us Saturday!  We are all in for a weekend of crafting, shopping, eating, and fun!  If you are local, head on over to Sweet Clover Saturday from 10-5 to meet these creative vintage loving ladies!  You can check out our facebook page for more information.  Hope to see you there!

Crane and Canopy provided me with the duvet and pillow shams you see in this post.  All opinions are my own.

Love how your bedding looks & I always buy king size, too. Although my mattress is obscenely tall so it is more of a necessity at this point. 😉 Oh, & love that you shared the vanity. Now I can see that those rooms are totally connected.

I love how the new bedding coordinates with what you had, and really finishes it off so well. It’s like a grown up bed…I want one of those! I also am looooving all the gold against the navy blue – yummy combination! Your open air marketplace sounds so lovely……how I wish I could come. Some day I am going to make a roadtrip down to Sweet Clover!

That bedding looks so great. I love the contrasting borders. The bug pillow is also really nice. What about the dotted pillows right behind it? They look familiar, but I can’t place them? Where are they from? I really like those.

Your whole room is so wonderful.
