Happy Tuesday, friends! It’s been a busy couple of weeks over here as we get ready for our July barn sale, and we decided to shake things up a bit and add a little sneak peek evening to shop with the Sweet Clover Summer Sip & Shop this Thursday. It is going to be such a fun evening, and I wanted to share the details here for anyone who wants to come out for the night. (RSVP here!) I also thought I’d give you a little peek at what’s in store this month.
Sarah and I were on vacation together a few weeks ago and we thought, “Hey, it may be last minute, but let’s do a little summer soiree the evening before our sale! Let’s get live music, local wine, and offer people a discount with their ticket purchase. And let’s do it all with a good cause in mind!” So we returned home from the beach and got right down to work, making the calls, and doing everything we needed to do to set things in motion. Pay attention if you’d like to come, because there are a lot of details.
First of all, we are selling tickets to the event for $10, and money will be collected at the door (we are doing this because you have an opportunity to get half off that price which I’ll soon explain.) Your ticket includes….
Live music from Jenna of Chris & Jenna….
Wine from Red Heifer Winery…I am pretty excited to try their blueberry wine, which they’ve told me a little about. Yvonne, the owner, also told me she made Sangria with it the other night which sounds pretty incredible, too!
And finally, 10% off your entire purchase for the evening- not to mention the fact that you’re getting first dibs! And just wait until you see the photos- it’s truly shaping up to be one of our best looking sales yet!
One more detail I want to add… Sweet Clover is proud to be “Kitten Heel” sponsors of this year’s Soles of Love in the Garden, a local event put together by my friend Julie Gaver. Soles of Love is an event that celebrates friendship and women in a beautiful backyard garden setting. At the event, guests bring donations of new children’s shoes for those in need. The garden party is booked to capacity this year, but we are proud to be collecting shoes this entire sale weekend. If you attend Thursday evening and bring a new pair of shoes, your admission will be half off, bringing it to $5! Julie so kindly brought the box to my house and snapped a photo the other day. I have since brought it to Sweet Clover, but here it is… ready to be filled with Soles of Love! And now, I want to show you some scenes from around the shop right now. This area in the front is one of my favorites. Sarah and I hung a vintage child’s bike from the ceiling and strung lights on it, creating a quirky garden chandelier.
I just love how the browns and blues play together in this photo. Amber glass is not as popular as blue and green glass, but it truly is lovely.
Sarah painted this beauty… the original hardware looks awesome against the gray.
I found fabulous set of vintage bamboo pieces last month and brought this tall dresser to Sweet Clover. The lower companion might just be in my dining room at the moment while I contemplate.
A couple weekends ago I had a pretty stressful time which I’ll share more about later, but I dealt with it by getting crafty. I added tassels to some vintage baskets. Sarah and I also brought in African baskets this month, as we love the global feel, texture, and color they add to a home
I am surprised this vintage rattan settee has not yet found a new home, and I wish I had a place for it! The trunk you may recognize as painted by the talented Sarah Dorsey.
Every once in a while, I have to just go with classic white. I painted this beast of a sideboard and am ever so grateful that it’s on wheels.
Those are my favorite scenes from what Sarah and I have worked on this month, but with several creative and insanely talented vendors in the house, I wanted to show you what some of them have been up to as well.
In our cottage behind the barn, JMarsteller Designs has worked to create a “wanderlust” vibe. They’ve brought in several global pieces of art, relics and mementos, and a great mix of furnishings.I love this little cot set up they staged.
Cloher Collections has some awesome pairs of tables this month, including these blue nightstands.
Chris from Vintage Fresh Furnishings gave a nice new rustic top to a vintage harp table.
Michelle from Antica Market brought in her signature style with a great pair of reupholstered French chairs.
Leila creates some of the most beautiful and unique brightly painted pieces. I love her globes, and how fun is this orange pair of nightstands for a girl’s room?
She also brought in a couple dressers with amazing boho hand-painted details.
And finally, we have a new vendor who I happened to meet through instagram. Some of you may follow Jen of Green Spruce Designs… I’ve even featured her before on Thrift Score Thursday! Someone better come on out and buy that macrame hanging… or it’s gonna have to come home with me! Jen’s got some awesome finds and we’re so excited to have her with us.
So now you’ve heard it all… live music, wine, vintage finds, and a good cause! If you are local, come on out and join us for an awesome Summer evening. You can RSVP here.
