Sweet Little Duck Egg Drop Leaf Table

Happy Friday!  I am so glad the weekend is here and it’s going to be gorgeous!  Busy as always of course….
Tonight some girlfriends are coming over for wine and design.  Tomorrow, Traer is coming down for a thrifting/yard sale visit and lunch.  Sunday I will be participating in the March of Dimes walk with Emmy, our neighbors, and I even recruited Emmy’s kindergarten teacher to walk with us.  (She is the BEST teacher we have yet to encounter; she goes above and beyond and we feel so blessed to have her!)  After that we will head off to Sawyer’s soccer game!  Both Saturday and Sunday afternoon and evening are totally open and I plan to just relax, maybe get some painting done if I find new projects, and probably sit on my porch (sorry, terrace, Patty!), sip some wine, and maybe even pull out the UNO deck!  Sounds pretty good to me!

I know I was hoping to share a dresser with you today (I shared the sneak peek yesterday), but I didn’t get the hardware until last night, so it will have to wait.   But I have a cute little piece to share with you. I actually picked it up yesterday at a thirft shop and loved its legs and shape….

As soon as I got home I got to work!  I removed the hardware and gave it a couple coats of Annie Sloan in Duck Egg.  While I painted, Jake kept me company and made sure I was safe from the deer and neighborhood dogs.  I sure do love this dog.  He just loves me in an all encompassing way and has to always be with me.  He’s at my feet right now as I type this.  I don’t know anyone or anything who loves me quite like that.

Anyhow, moving on from my dog’s love for me and mine for him, how about a little table reveal?  I distressed it wet sandpaper, which gave a nice chippy look.  I waxed it with clear wax, put the original hardware back on and voila!

With the leaves up it could even be used as a little work surface… just pull up a chair!

Well, that’s all I have for you today!  I hope you have an amazing weekend and that Spring brings you sunshine and flowers, and maybe even unicorns and rainbows, wherever you are! 🙂 (Of course, for all my down under friends, hope you are having a nice cozy Fall weekend!)

I have a black version of your pup, and he’s the best. When I work in my office, he keeps me company, and he’s ALWAYS happy to see me. Aren’t furry friends the best?

Sweet little table! I picked up a great vanity/desk at a garage sale yesterday and can’t wait to get started on it!

You are a busy woman! And I’m opting for the rainbows and unicorns. My week has been filled with car repairs and dentists, so I’m going to fairy land for a bit.

    Happy Friday!

So sweet about your dog Cassie, and of course I am very fond of his name 😉

That table looks so cute now, you amaze me with the speed at which you get paint projects done!

As for ‘fall’ down under, let me assure you it is lovely…we’ve been at the beach several times this week, in fact we are spending more time there than we did in the summer…it’s a little cooler now (still mid 20’s) and much more bearable. We did have the fire on tonight just because we could…but I am still sitting here in shorts, singlet and bare feet. Love this climate!
