Jord provided me with a wood watch. I was not compensated for this post.
Unique Watches
As I’ve watched Emmy grow these past eight years, I’ve been excited to see her interests slant towards mine…. creative endeavors, design, style, music. We share so many of the same hobbies and passions. While I take many photos for my blog and have worked on bettering my skills over the last few years, I also truly love photography. I will never be a professional, but I love that I can take frame-worthy photos of my family, friends, and the world around me. A month ago I asked Emmy if she would shoot a photo for this post for me. I set her up, and she executed beautifully. After that, her interest was sparked and she wants to learn more about photography. She’s taking time away from dance this year and I decided it would be the perfect chance to teach her a little more about photography. I am very fortunate in that my father passed on his old Canon EOS 50D DSLR Camera so I now have my old Canon EOS Rebel (which I’ve used for the past few years here) to let Emmy practice on. When Jord Wood Watches emailed me and asked me to review a watch for them, I thought it would be a great opportunity for Emmy to get some practice and show off these beautiful watches. They have such an amazing selection, but of course I chose the Cora wood watch which has a beautiful turquoise face.
I love the color of the face paired with the wood, and I love how effortlessly chic these watches are. My style tends to be casual…. I wear a lot of denim paired with more bohemian style tops. And that’s only when I am not in paint or running clothes. This watch suits my style perfectly and stands alone as a statement accessory.
I also tend to gravitate towards neutrals in my wardrobe, so I love the touch of color the face adds to my look. The fact that it is a favorite color of mine is a bonus!
And if you are wondering where there are palms around me, these photos were taken at my in laws house in South Carolina… I had planned to do a beach shoot, but the day before I got so badly sun burned on my legs, so I decided to stay away from the beach and sun! I will fill you in more on Seabrook SC later, but I will say that I got burnt because I was having way too much fun sitting in the sun gabbing with this girl! (Love her!)
Emmy did a pretty great job, didn’t she? I am no model, so it’s not like she had the easiest subject to work with.
When we returned home from our vacation it was back to work at Sweet Clover and also on blog projects. I will be sharing a big one with you on Monday, but as I set out to style another photo featuring the watch I realized something.
Do you see what I see in this image? Let’s pan out a bit so you can get a better look…
As you can see…. wood on our bedroom wall! I had originally planned to paint that wall for a white coastal shiplap look, but after we planked it, and placed the turquoise dresser in front of it I was in love. Perhaps I was subconsciously influenced by the gorgeous pairing of the turquoise and wood of my Jord wood watch. I think it is safe to say that fashion most definitely influences design, so there is a good chance this watch created this change in my space.
Do you have any accessories that have influenced the design of your home? I would love to hear!
Thank you to Jord for providing me with the Cora watch. All photography is my own (and Emmy’s!) and all opinions are mine as well.
