Temporary Nightstand and New Bedding!

I have been working a little on my master bedroom and making some changes. I have been on the lookout for the perfect pair of glamorous matching nightstands… I want them to have an inset in the top so I can set a mirror there, and they need to have a shelf or drawer. So far I haven’t found anything. I found the perfect pair at the auction a couple weeks ago but not for the perfect price. I found this little guy this past week at the auction for 10 bucks.

So close to the style I want, but not exactly it. And it’s flying solo. Mine needs to have a perfect mate for life. But for now, I painted it Annie Sloane’s Duck Egg Blue, distressed and waxed it with natural wax. And it will work for now until I find my pair!

And on another bedroom related note, I was NOT anticipating new bedding. I love my bedding and I will still keep it. But today, thanks, to Elsa Greer I ordered this bedding from Urban Outfitters. I just got the duvet cover… and a sale pillow, but I’ll share that later! I ordered the blue, seen here:

Isn’t it awesome???  I know the nightstand I just painted is a shade of aqua but my new nightstands (when I find them) will be painted in Benjamin Moore’s Golden Delicious in a glossy undistressed finish.  When I find them.  Are you out there little nightstands?  Please come home.  Have you seen my nightstands?  If you find them send them to me.

Cassie your fill-in nightstand is beautiful in all her curviness. Good luck finding your dream pair, they do exist somewhere. If not you could always make them!

Lol!! I’m looking for two nightstands also! I had that same bedspread that you have now- did you get it at Target? I returned it though, we lay on our bed too much and I was tired of straightening it out all the time. It doesn’t stay fluffy, at least mine didn’t.

Love the blue, and the sassy curves! Good Luck finding your matching pair. If you don’t, maybe you could find something similar and give it the same treatment.

Oh I love the table. Isn’t it fun to keep a fun find and not have to sell it? Ok now I need to go look at the Urban Outfitters site.

Oh my goodness, that nightstand is beautiful. I love, love, love the color! My nightstands are tall (we have a tall bed) and narrow. They’re really supposed to be plant stands. I want something a little bigger and with a drawer too. I need to make some $$ before I can buy anything else. 😉

That is one heck of a gorgeous piece….I am judging from the new bedding that you have determined the color scheme for the bedroom. The nightstands will come along. I was looking forever too until I decided to turn the old vanity into nightstands….

    Take care,

I love the shape and detailing of the “temporary” nightstand you found, but I’m having the same problem you are – finding two of the same thing! I’ll keep my eye out for a matching set down here in Alexandria!

🙂 Awesome!! That new bedding is A-MAZING and you sure do have a way with furniture (duh!!). That nightstand is adorable. When you find the perfect pair, if they don’t have the inset top that you’re looking for, you could always add a small strip of molding around the top (although, I’m sure you’ve already thought of that, huh!!). I can’t wait to see what you find! And in my opinion, anything with a mirrored top sounds fabulous!! 🙂 -lisa (Ali’s sis)

I love that little table and I’ll take it when your done with it. I just snapped up a little one for one side of my bed. I do need one for the other side. Yours is much prettier than the one I got but it was only $6 and I couldn’t say no. It’s a sickness.

I love your nightstand and love the color you selected. It’s unique and has such graceful lines. Definitely to pretty to be temporary. Maybe you could find one that coordinates with it instead. Nice job!
