A week of thrifted fashion!
Hi friends! We are one week into the 30 day thrifted fashion challenge, and I have to tell you… I am having SO MUCH fun seeing all of the amazing creative outfits you guys have come up with. If you aren’t following on instagram, today I am going to share the first week of outfits that Emmy and I put together as well as some of the ensembles I have seen participants share. When I came up with the idea for this challenge, it was honestly for myself and Emmy. We love adventuring out to our local thrift shops and seeing what we treasures can discover. However, I am so thrilled that I decided to open it up to the community because it’s inspired me so much to think a little more creatively about my outfits. Actually, Emmy and I are headed out of town this week to see the HGTV dream home (we’re currently there but I am writing t his in advance!), and we’ve already made plans to hit up the Goodwill there, and I’ve even planned thrifted outfits to wear to the events. 😉 Now, let’s check out this week in review. While this challenge is called the 30 day challenge, because I need to photograph in advance for blog posts, my outfits are not in real time… just wanted to let you know! However, the intention is the same.
Thrifted item: Nope tee paired with 7 year old jeans
Thrifted items: Vogue jacket, Adidas tee, and sneakers.
By the way, even though I let Emmy take the lead that day, I wore this thrifted Nike workout top. (And this is my post body pump look, so don’t judge).
Thrifted items: J. Crew sweater, Free People stretch flare jeans.
Shoes are not thrifted but are 100% recyclable!
Thrifted item: cozy vibes shirt
Thrifted item: super soft mustard yellow Old Navy sweater.
I am a sucker for soft cozy sweaters! This one is so soft and I loved the color which is a stray from my typical neutrals. Also, do you like my senior photo? 😉 What is that pose?
Thrifted items: Harvard jacket, waves t-shirt, shoes.
We found this jacket last fall and have gotten SO much use out of it! She loves it and wears it to school over her uniform often.
Day 7 (today!)
Thrifted items: white classic t-shirt, Target cowboy boots
Lularoe skirt is several years old and gifted. I really loved this outfit and felt good in it… will be wearing it again!
Now I want to share with you some of the amazing inspiration from around instagram! These are all screen shots from my phone, FYI.
Seth is the only guy playing at the moment, but he’s got the coolest closet. If I were a man, I would dress just like Seth. His wife has been playing a bit as well, but she’s been down with the flu. Sending Katie well wishes!
Mary did a really cool cost comparison on her outfit, and just look at that price difference!!! She spent $21 on a $356 outfit.
Katy asked followers to vote on which thrifted outfit she should wear to date night. I thought that was super fun, even if the outfit I picked didn’t win. 😉
Kacy posted this photo in our facebook group, and I just love her outfit! Everything but the shoes was thrifted and cost $13 total.
Michelle has super fun style and always looks amazing! I’ve really enjoyed seeing what she’s come up with. Just look at two of her outfits next:
And finally, one of my favorite local thrifters and vintage resellers, Lora, also shares some of the most fun finds and pieces!
What do you think? Are you inspired to head to your local thrift shop?!?! I know I am inspired to maybe be a little more creative with my outfits. I end to gravitate towards the same things all the time, but seeing all of these stylish people makes me want to be a more stylish human being.
I will be back next Wednesday with another week’s worth of thrifted fashion. Happy hunting, friends!
