Well, I know that honeysuckle is this year’s color of the year, and that turquoise was last year’s color. What can I say, I am living in the past. I found these two pieces the same day.
This little cabinet was $7 from the as-is Salvation Army store. It had a little crack that needed some glue.
I loved its clean lines, and wanted to give it a little sophistication. I had one last pair of lion’s head brass pulls left in my stash, so I knew I wanted to use those. I scoured my paint stash and found this oops Ben Moore Aura paint in turquouse. Perfect! This piece would make a fabulous nightstand!
And this dresser was unmarked at Goodwill, so the lady said she’d sell it to me for $25. I couldn’t say “I’ll take it!” fast enough!
I loved the dresser’s squarish knobs, but it was missing the middle portion of one. So I knew I wanted to use drop pulls. With Lucketts less than two weeks away, I didn’t want to order. I found some at my local hardware store that were exactly what I wanted, but for about $7 each. Nope. So I again looked through my stash and found some that I thought would work. I cleaned them up in baking soda and boiling water and made them shine again. And I painted this piece the same color as the cabinet. I left this one undistressed as well, for a more modern feel.
So there’s two more of the pices I finished yesterday! More to come this week!
