Thrift Score Thursday 39: New Living Room Pillows

It’s Thursday and that can only mean one thing- it’s Thrift Score Thursday!  Last week I shared some thrifted pieces for Sawyer’s costume as a Hobbit dwarf, and this week I want to share YOUR awesome thrifted costumes!  This week my cohosts, Brynne and Trisha, along with our guest host, Corinna from For My Love of, will be showing off your fabulous costumes, so be sure to visit them as well!

If you are new to Thrift Score Thursday, here is how it works:  You thrift, share your finds on instagram or twitter using the thrift score thursday hashtag #thriftscorethursday , and we feature our favorite finds, plus we each share a find of our own!  We will be doing more themed thrift scores, maybe once a month or less, so be sure to look for those announcements!

Speaking of themed TST, I was so excited to see some of you participating in the themed challenge of costumes this week, so that’s what I chose to feature.

First up, An Inspired Nest created two amazing costumes that my kids would love!

First up, she created Steve from Minecraft with a shirt and pants from Goodwill.  Check this out!

And second, she created Leonardo from TMNT with a shirt and pants from Goodwill also.  And check out that shell made from a disposable pan!  Genius!  Heroes in a half shell, turtle power!

Head on over to instagram to follow An Inspired Nest!

And one more for you…  Amber from Restless Arrow created the most adorable pirate costume from thrifted finds. She shares the details on her blog, but here’s her instagram image!

Find Amber on instagram here.

And now I want to share my recent find with you!  I shared costume last week, so it’s back to a regular find for me this week….

I don’t normally buy pillows at thrift shops, but recently I spied 3 of these navy flocked upholstery weight leopard pillows for $4 each! They were perfect for my living room, and in new condition!  I don’t think they were ever used.  Oh and I picked up the buffalo check covers from Ikea the other day! They had nothing on my list that I needed, so instead I came home with things I didn’t need.

Next week, it’s back to a regular thrift score Thursday, and I will be sharing my favorite finds in all! So be sure to keep on hastagging your finds with #thriftscorethursday .  Until then, happy hunting, Sebastian (name that movie).

I love those pillows, Cassie! Normally I don’t buy pillows at the thrift store either, but sometimes I find some that are just such awesome quality I know I would never splurge to purchase the same pillow new!

If I find great feather pillows at the thrift, then I snag them and just recover. Those are so expensive, it is worth it to me!

So those costumes are so darn cute and clever! I had every intention of making a costume for Cooper but I kept putting it off and when I walked into Pottery Barn kids and stumbled upon their wizard costume marked down to $20.00 I swiped it up and figured it was such good quality he could play pretend in it even after Halloween. (It’s my way of feeling less guilty!) I usually pass the pillows up to but never stops me from looking quickly and you totally scored, super jealous, looks great with the plaid pillows!

Such cute thrifted costumes!! I bought a pillow from a thrift store once. It still had the tag on, so it’s cool. You’ll see it in Ramona’s room soon!

Those are great pillows, Cassie! I had some of the leopard in the brown/green colorway, but they’ve moved on to my Mom’s house. Such a great pattern and I love the mix with the check!

Your pillows are absolutely lovely! AND such a great price. Your Ikea trip sounds exactly like my regular shopping trips. There’s a list but who cares when there’s prettier stuff that just takes up space anyway?!
