Thrift Score Thursday: Native American Figure

It’s time for my favorite day of the week… Thrift Score Thursday!thrift score thursday12PinIf you are new here, let me explain just what #thriftscorethursday is.  We want you to participate! Hit up your local thrift stores, craigslist, yard sales, estate sales, side of the road, anything! Thrifty doesn’t necessarily mean from a thrift store. We want to see your good deals, wacky finds and treasures.

Don’t feel like you need to save those finds for Thursdays! Yes, features are shared on our blogs and Instagram on Thursdays, but we’re all checking in on (and using!) the hashtag all week long. So, when you see/find it, feel free to share it!  And we love it when you tag your friends to play along, too!

Each week Brynne from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from For A Designer at Home,  Maggie from Maggie Overby Studios, and  once monthly a guest co-host will pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with#thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.

This week we are excited to have a special guest host, Karen of Copper Dot Interiors.  Karen has recently launched her design business and is super talented so be sure to check her out.TST Guest Host KarenPinPin

Last weekend I had just returned from the beach and Saturday on our way to the poultry swap I spotted lots of yard sale signs.  But I had that post-vacation-no-motivation going on and skipped out on all of them.  Sunday morning, however, I saw one advertised on craigslist that sounded interesting so Emmy and I headed over.  We found some fun art, planters, red cowboy boots (for her), vintage trucks, and I took home this Native American bust that I couldn’t pass up.Native American BustPinLook at this guy… he’s like, “Hey girl.  I am a badass who can kick a bear’s booty and wear its face on my head and its claws as a necklace, but I am also friend to the deer.”  Inside, he’s really just a softy.  I put him on my own dresser for now, but I haven’t yet decided if he will stay there.  And I may paint him… Thoughts?Native American Bust on dresserPin

Now let’s check out my features this week.  Fiona scored a fabulous midcentury dining table, but it was this entire space that caught my eye.  The chairs, the copper, the black walls… Swoon!tst around_housesPinYou can find Fiona on instagram here.

Kim found an adorable copper hanging planter and I love how it fills that space in her room and draws the eye up.tst kim wilsonPin

Lidija thrifted most of the items you see below… it all came together beautifully to create such an awesome bedroom.

Mila is a girl after my own heart with her love of vintage art.  I love her collection, especially that portrait.tst mila_jestcafePinYou can find Mila on instagram here.

Haha, So glad you found such and well rounded Native American bust, a man’s man in touch with his feminine side. I kind of dig him just the way he is but it may be those aqua feathers that I love. Oh yeah and Mila’s art, can’t get over it. I want that lady portrait to come to my house!

What a fun find, Cassie! I’m with Maggie – I really love the pop of aqua from the feathers! And he seems like such a sweet guy 🙂 Love it!

    1. Don’t paint him. 2. I’d move him. I wouldn’t want him watching me undress. Hahaha.
