Happy Thrift Score Thursday!

\thrift score thursday12If you are new here, let me explain just what #thriftscorethursday is.  We want you to participate! Hit up your local thrift stores, craigslist, yard sales, estate sales, side of the road, anything! Thrifty doesn’t necessarily mean from a thrift store. We want to see your good deals, wacky finds and treasures.

Don’t feel like you need to save those finds for Thursdays! Yes, features are shared on our blogs and Instagram on Thursdays, but we’re all checking in on (and using!) the hashtag all week long. So, when you see/find it, feel free to share it!  And we love it when you tag your friends to play along, too!

Each week Brynne from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from For A Designer at Home,  Maggie from Maggie Overby Studios, and  once monthly a guest co-host will pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with#thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.

This week I want to share a piece I found and really wanted to keep.  I tried to make it work in my dining room as a sideboard, but it just never felt right to me.  So I kept it there only until I found something to replace it with…. cliffhanger!

I found this dresser as part of a set on craigslist, and this is the one piece that just really spoke to me.  I love the style and hardware, and of course the material.

Unfortunately, as I mentioned, it just wasn’t working for me in my home.  So I will be hauling it over to Sweet Clover for our September sale.Bamboo Dresser with Nautical SeascapeI do love how it looks on this wall, but alas, this wall gets no furniture or the space feels too crowded.  I just placed it here for photos.Vintage Campaign Bamboo Dresser with Nautical Gallery WallOf course, I am somewhat biased, but pretty much any piece of furniture looks good under a nautical seascape wall.Bamboo Dresser with Nautical Seascape WallSo now let me share with you my favorites from the #thriftscorethursday tag this week.

Ashley is so close to revealing her entire kitchen which has been amazing thus far.  She scored these little pottery pieces which fit in perfectly with the modern organic vibe she has going on with her kitchen shelfie.tst biggerthanthethreeofusYou can find Ashley’s beautiful shelves on instagram here.

You guys might know that I have a weakness for adorable miniatures, and this vintage doll furniture set that Lindsey scored made my heart skip a beat.tst linnyjanevintage

You can find this cute set on instagram here.

Now head on over to see what my lovely cohosts have found and featured.

Great finds this week. That dresser is amazing but I know how it goes to find an amazing piece you just don’t have a place for. Hopefully at Sweet Clover it will find a good home. Love Ashley’s kitchen adn how did I know you would choose the mini rattan? Too cute!

Someone else will be THRILLED to give that dresser a new home – those brass details are too gorgeous! That being said, I’m way more in love with what you found to replace it!!!

And the instant I saw those mini wicker pieces, I knew you would love them! I think we need to devote an entire Thrift Score Thursday just to celebrating mini thrift finds!

I would love a dresser like that. Could you let me know the maker and approximate era? I live in CA, so I would need to look our here for one.
    Thanks,
    Nina

Sure! It’s made by Dixie. I would guess in the 1950’s but I am not positive on that.

Y’all crack me up, because your styles are so similar! Y’all need an old lady in there who’s going to choose old lady stuff, not stuff she threw away in 1980. What’s next? Mauve and geese? (J/K)

I’m late to the party, but thanks so much for sharing my selfie. I’d been in a thrifting slump for quite awhile but the tide has turned…when it rains it pours. =)
