It’s my favorite day of the week, Thrift Score Thursday! If you are new here, let me explain just what #thriftscorethursday is. We want you to participate! Hit up your local thrift stores, craigslist, yard sales, estate sales, side of the road, anything! Thrifty doesn’t necessarily mean from a thrift store. We want to see your good deals, wacky finds and treasures.
Don’t feel like you need to save those finds for Thursdays! Yes, features are shared on our blogs and Instagram on Thursdays, but we’re all checking in on (and using!) the hashtag all week long. So, when you see/find it, feel free to share it! And we love it when you tag your friends to play along, too!
Each week Brynne from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from For A Designer at Home, Maggie from Maggie Overby Studios, and once monthly a guest co-host will pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with#thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.
This week I have a find with a funny story… So a couple of weeks ago, Emmy and I hit up a Sunday morning yard sale and found a few fun vintage treasures. The woman putting on the sale definitely had some quirky and unique artwork and items. Actually, it’s where last week’s Native American bust came from! She had a stack of giant industrial metal letters and I was eyeing the S for Sawyer’s room… the color and style were both spot on. I inquired about the price and she told me she really wasn’t sure she wanted to sell them. She had spelled out “BERNIE S” with all but the S, because she had been a huge Bernie Sanders fanatic. (I will refrain from any political commentary). Anyhow, someone had stolen her B and she was clearly pretty upset about it. She was still emotionally attached to the letters and wasn’t sure she wanted to sell them. I left my phone number with her just in case she decided she wanted to. Well, last week she called me and offered me a group deal, so I bought them all. A couple need some love before I can bring them to Sweet Clover, and of course the S is going into Sawyer’s room. Check it out! It’s almost as big as Sawyer.
Now let me show you my features this week.
First up is Aubrey who showed off some vintage mesh food protectors she found. So those don’t sound that exciting, I know, but check out her vision for them! And can we talk about that bed?

Erin was on the hunt for a vintage kilim and scored not one, but two! Love the colors in this one especially. Oh, and she’s got a fab etsy shop to check out.You can find Erin on instagram here.
