Happy Thrift Score Thursday!thrift score thursday12If you are new here, let me explain just what #thriftscorethursday is.  We want you to participate! Hit up your local thrift stores, craigslist, yard sales, estate sales, side of the road, anything! Thrifty doesn’t necessarily mean from a thrift store. We want to see your good deals, wacky finds and treasures.

Don’t feel like you need to save those finds for Thursdays! Yes, features are shared on our blogs and Instagram on Thursdays, but we’re all checking in on (and using!) the hashtag all week long. So, when you see/find it, feel free to share it!  And we love it when you tag your friends to play along, too!

Each week Brynne from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from For A Designer at Home,  Maggie from Maggie Overby Studios, and  once monthly a guest co-host will pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with#thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.

This week I wanted to share something I found a long time ago to do as a project and never completed… but luckily I have talented vendors at Sweet Clover and I passed the half done project on to Cloher Collections.

A friend texted me a couple years ago and let me know that there were some chairs sitting out for trash at their neighbor’s house.  I hopped in my car, and headed over, and ended up grabbing a gorgeous balloon back chair with a seriously weathered finish.  It needed reupholstery on the seat in a bad way, too, and I thought I might finally teach myself.  (Insert laugh track here).  I painted the body General Finishes Emerald Green, gave it their glossy topcoat, and then let it sit in my basement for approximately 20 months.  It’s all part of the process.

Finally after allowing it to cure for 20 months, I passed it onto the ladies of Cloher Collections so they could give it that finishing touch to make it shine.  Diane covered the seat in an amazing navy Zebra fabric and the combination is killer!  13418388_573283282854411_5227244390814644666_o

Now let’s get to the features this week!

Eirene found this amazing blanket; however it’s not the blanket but the styling that caught my eye.  It’s making a blanket statement.  (I told you before, I like lame word jokes!)tst crazyoldireneYou can find Eirene on instagram here.

Doug is always slaying me with his epic Colorado finds… like this collection of native American needlepoints.  So unique!  FYI, you can shop Doug’s finds here.tst doug_fritockYou can find Doug on instagram here.

Kamille scored an awesome boho shell chandelier and hung it in her dining room for now… LOVE!tst dreaming_of_decorYou can find Camille on instagram here.

Leigh showed this corner of her bedroom which includes multiple thrifted items.  I love how she put it all together.tst eclectic_leighYou can find Leigh on instagram here.

Sherry created a great tripod lamp out of a thrifted tripod!tst savvyapronYou can find Sherry on instagram here.

Ashley painted this dresser white and I love the fresh look.  And it’s staged beautifully.tst vintagerefinedYou can find Ashley on instagram here.

Elise scored this great rocking chair and once again it’s the styling that got me.

Sara found this fabulous basket, and I found out she doesn’t live too far from me… might have to follow her and find out where she’s thrifting. 😉 Also, she sells her modern macrame on etsy!tst_theforestfernYou can find Sara on instagram here.Thrift Score Thursday Maggie

Thrift Score Thursday Brynne color (1)That’s all, folks!  I’ll see you next week with more thrifty finds.  Happy hunting!

Haha, I have some things in my garage that have been “curing” for months and they haven’t even gotten a paint job yet. It looks like your little chair was well cured in the end, well worth the wait. I Love the green and I want to put it in that hallway with the amazing blanket so they can be friends.

Those chairs turned out super cute! Great teamwork! 😀 I’m avoiding the garage because I have those two ridiculously big and totally craptastically broken bamboo peacock chairs in there that need so much work that I’m not capable of… I might just let them compost in there!

Cute chairs and I love that basket!! I really enjoy Thrift Score Thursday. Can’t wait to do some real “Thrifting” when we move back to the states. Things are outrageously priced out here!

I love how your chair came out! The navy zebra fabric is so delicious with the green! Good thing you let it cure for 20 months, very thorough 🙂

The chair turned out great!! Curing – I like that. Gonna use that myself. I’m still trying to pick my jaw up off the floor over that gorgeous basket. And what a great idea to use that quilt as a wall hanging!
