Hey guys! Can you believe it’s already the second month of the year? I feel like I was just celebrating the arrival of 2017 (and by celebrating I mean sleeping on my sofa as the ball dropped) yesterday. We’re back with our Thrift Score Thursday January Features and it’s good… grab your keys and bag, because as soon as you finish this post, you’ll be jonesin’ to get your thrift on.
You may recall that we’ve started our new monthly format. With these new monthly posts and features, we’re all being a little pickier as we have one month of thrifted finds to squeeze into a handful of features. If you are new here (first, hi! I am glad you’re here!), let me explain just what #thriftscorethursday is. We want you to participate! Hit up your local thrift stores, craigslist, yard sales, estate sales, side of the road, anything! Thrifty doesn’t necessarily mean from a thrift store. We want to see your good deals, wacky finds and treasures and how you style them in your home. That’s right… I am looking for gorgeous photos of interiors with your finds styled to perfection.
Don’t feel like you need to save those finds for Thursdays! Yes, features are shared on our blogs once a month and Instagram weekly on Thursdays, but we’re all checking in on (and using!) the hashtag all week long. So, when you see/find it, feel free to share it! And we love it when you tag your friends to play along, too!
The first Thursday of each month, Brynne from The Gathered Home, Maggie from Maggie Overby Studios and I will pick our favorite thrift scores to feature. So please note that by linking up with#thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.
Today I am happy to say I actually have a find to share. I finally opened my etsy shop last week, and thanks to you, it had a successful first week! Because of that, I decided to stop by the thrift shop next to the grocery store yesterday. I picked up a few things, and then edited my cart leaving only 3 items in it.
First up, I bought this adorable and large pair of brass swans (maybe geese, but swans sounds much fancier). I just thought they were so lovely, and would make a great Valentine’s day gift. You can find them in the shop here if you want to show someone (yourself?) some love.

The next item isn’t anything that is going in the shop, nor am I keeping it. I’ve been on the hunt for a great and special housewarming gift for one of my closest friends. I finally found it! This little bamboo planter is going to be filled with a plant and will be perfect on her new open shelving in her midcentury meets vintage meets Scandinavian home.
Now for those awesome features I warned you about…
How gorgeous is this room designed by Natasha Meininger? Those horse harnesses on the left are thrifted and really add a great classic and warm touch to this space.
Charmaine has a knack for hunting down great things and almost everything you see below besides the rug was thrifted. Just WOW.
Caitlin scored a gorgeous huge rattan mirror that looks right at home on her beautiful eclectic mantle.
Mel, who has the cutest etsy shop full of funky finds, found not one, but two of these beautiful midcentury chairs. They rock my world, and hers, obviously. (Sorrynotsorry for my punny jokes).
Chelsea found this beautiful cabinet, which isn’t vintage, but looks perfectly at home in her less is more and natural home.
And last but certainly not least is this lucite tubular chair that Beau scored. I’ve never seen another like it… swoon!
Are you already halfway to the thrift shop by now? I hope so, but before you head out, check out my cohosts to see what they’ve found and featured as well.
Happy Hunting, friends!
