Happy Thrift Score Thursday!

thrift score thursday11

If you are new here, let me explain just what #thriftscorethursday is.  We want you to participate! Hit up your local thrift stores, craigslist, yard sales, estate sales, side of the road, anything! Thrifty doesn’t necessarily mean from a thrift store. We want to see your good deals, wacky finds and treasures.

Don’t feel like you need to save those finds for Thursdays! Yes, features are shared on our blogs and Instagram on Thursdays, but we’re all checking in on (and using!) the hashtag all week long. So, when you see/find it, feel free to share it!  And we love it when you tag your friends to play along, too!

Each week, Trisha from Black and White Obsession, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from For My Love Of, Brynne from The Gathered Home and a weekly guest co-host will pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with#thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.

As I have mentioned because I am obsessing and can’t stop and I need help please send help I have been on the hunt for dollhouse items.  The kids have gotten involved as well, and we peruse ebay together.  My kids love music… Emmy sings well, and Sawyer plays the trumpet.  So when this sweet little piano scrolled by us on ebay a couple weeks ago, they had to have it!  And at just a couple dollars, I was sold, too.  It’s a vintage Lundby piano, and I also love its color scheme… black and white and perfect for our house. (And there’s a little sneak peek of my DIY moroccan shag rug!).

Vintage Lundby PianoNow for features… I am the worst because I love way too many styles and finds and can never narrow it down easily.

Bobbi’s thrifted chair looks amazing and cozy in her moody little corner.  I could curl up there with a glass of vino.

tst bobbistyleYou can find Bobbi on instagram here.

Kirby scored these awesome industrial drawers.  I can’t wait to see what she does with them!tst kirbyFind Kirby on instagram here.

Love Recycled always has some of the best finds!  This stool is no exception.  I think I am headed to Florida for some thrifting!tst love_recycledYou can find her on instagram here.

Maggie was inspired by my good friend Amber’s color blocked chairs and created one of her own with a thrifted find.tst maggie overby

Red House West scored this beautiful portrait and styled it perfectly- I love everything about this image.tst red house westYou can find Red House West on instagram here.

OK, now this one… help a sister out.  I LOVE this funky afro needlepoint lion, but I feel like I remember it from an old cartoon and I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Maybe I imagined it?  Anyhow, Sarah from Silver & Pine found it and it was just too cool not to share.tst silver and pineYou can find Sarah on instagram here.

And finally, Sharla from The Alabaster Vessel scored this great chrome vintage swivel chair.  Love the pleather and shiny chrome combo!

Be sure to visit my cohosts to see their finds and features as well!

Remember last night when I sort of nicely said dammm you Cassie, about hooking me on this dollhouse thing. Well, so yeah, here I am at FIVE IN THE FREAKING MORNING the next day up early designing. And what do you have here now? A piano. I hadn’t thought about a piano. Now I’ve gotta add a music room.

I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night and realizing that I’ve been dreaming about how to make tiny plants. We’re all going to need interventions soon. 🙂

I love your Moroccan rug! I’m trying to figure out a bear rug. Real ones disturb me, but a fake one might be cute…

That piano= so adorable! I redid a dollhouse that my dad made for me years ago when my daughter was born 3 years ago. I used mod podge and scrapbook paper as wallpaper. It was a lot of fun!

OMG the piano is everything. My dollhouse piano is an upright… this one is far superior.

Speaking of my childhood dollhouse, it is in desperate need of renovation. The pink, purple, and white color scheme is not cutting it on the exterior. The hardwood floors are in good shape but the bathroom and upstairs desperately needs new carpet and wallpaper.

Fortunately the fish scale shingles my father meticulously stained and individually glued on the roof have held up nicely, along with the copper (!) gutters. If only I appreciated these things as a child. Okay now you really have my wheels spinning. Are you going to start offering dollhouse design e-consulting services?

The drawers I found are big, so they won’t fit in a dollhouse. Thanks for the shout-out, little Cassie!!

The piano! That rug! Ok, so now you’ve got me convinced I’ve seen the lion in a cartoon before. I feel like it would have been on a Sesame Street short. I couldn’t find anything online though. Darn you Google!!!

4I had a book when I was a k>d about a lion, maybe named Lyle? Part of the plot was that he got all gussied up, whith his hair in curls and everything, but his friends liked him how he was before that. Now I need to try to find it! Lyle looked a bit like this lion.

Ah, found it! It was called Dandy Lion by Don Freeman. It’s also possible that you are thinking of Snagglepuss?
