Thrift Score Thursday: No Pane My Gain

It’s my favorite day of the week- Thrift Score Thursday!thrift score thursday12PinIf you are new here, let me explain just what #thriftscorethursday is.  We want you to participate! Hit up your local thrift stores, craigslist, yard sales, estate sales, side of the road, anything! Thrifty doesn’t necessarily mean from a thrift store. We want to see your good deals, wacky finds and treasures.

Don’t feel like you need to save those finds for Thursdays! Yes, features are shared on our blogs and Instagram on Thursdays, but we’re all checking in on (and using!) the hashtag all week long. So, when you see/find it, feel free to share it!  And we love it when you tag your friends to play along, too!

Each week Brynne from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from For A Designer at Home,  Maggie from Maggie Overby Studios, and  once monthly a guest co-host will pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with#thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.

Last weekend our West Frederick farmer’s market kicked off after Emmy and I had been anxiously waiting!  During the summer she and I like to hit yard sales together and then head over to the farmer’s market to shop produce and plants, and then she lives to finish end it with a personal brick oven pizza from Pinzano’s for an early lunch.  It’s become one of my absolute favorite summertime traditions…. creating memories with my girl!  Sometimes we bring along her best friend as well and I get to listen in on their silly and sweet conversations. Anyhow, last weekend we hit some yard sales and then headed off to the farmer’s market.  We found a few small things at yard sales, and one of them was a teal painted window with no panes in it.  I was hemming and hawing, and Emmy said, “Get it!  It will look pretty on our table with plants in each space.”  I loved that she had a vision for it, so I had to buy it. Here it is on our porch table.Window on table with plants in spacesPinI really love how everything outside has come together this year.. I still have a little more to do and will share with you one day.  But here’s a little peek…boho porch in blues and greensPinThe cacti on the table actually came from the market, too!  They were only a few dollars each.  Not bad considering they were larger than the ones you find at the garden center for much more money!Emmy & CactusPinThis weekend I won’t be hitting any yard sales or the market because Chris, my dad and I will be building a chicken coop!  That’s right- we are finally going to get some chickens and I can’t wait.  Emmy and I already have names picked out for them.  I am looking forward to getting this project kicked off even if it means I sacrifice a yard sale day. My mom is going to take the kids out to the farmer’s market so they’ll still get to go and have their brick oven pizza.

Now let’s check out my features this week!  Grab a cup of coffee, because I have 9 to share… I couldn’t help myself.

Sarah showed off her stellar collection of vintage crewelwork and now she has me wanting to start my own!tst thistlebloomsPinYou can find Sarah on instagram here.

Jennifer at 2 Bees in a Pod shared this table that was a transformed curbside find.  Gotta love those!tst 2beesinapodPinYou can find Jennifer on instagram here.

Arielle from Scotch & Nonsense showed off her thrifted brass lamp.  Doesn’t it look stunning in her library?tst ariellePinYou can find Arielle on instagram here.

Gretchen at Boxy Colonial showed off a corner of her son’s fantastic national parks room featuring a thrifted map and dresser.tst boxy colonialPinYou can find Gretchen on instagram here.

Karie Anne scored this beautiful blue bench and scale.  I love how it all looks together- so serene.tst dappled grayPinYou can find Karie Anne on instagram here.

Kiova, who owns the etsy shop Gold Dust Goods, shared this thrifted vignette… love that artwork!tst gold dust goodsPinYou can find Kiova on instagram here.

Megan redesigned this find with some fun paper.  Her vision is pretty much always on point.tst mepflugPinYou can find Megan on instagram here.

Molly Kay‘s home is always so bright and pretty!  This vignette caught my eye because of that minty metal tray!  She scored a set of 6 and I have tray envy over here!tst mkinteriorsPinYou can find Molly Kay on instagram here.

Linda at The Home I Create found a pair of these stunning lamps and they look perfect in her home!tst thehomeicreatePinYou can find Linda on instagram here.

Give Emmy a high-five for me! Love her vision for that window! I actually have one sitting in my garage that I got for free and I’ve been stumped as to what to do with it… Looks like a tray may be in its future!

And all your features are so good! I completely missed some of them, like that gorgeous blue and white lamp!

Thanks so much, Cassie! (when I first saw the referral traffic, I thought you had featured the awesome clown picture I posted late last night. But clearly you’re saving that for next week, or maybe for a special ALL CLOWN edition of Thrift Score Thursday ;))

I love Thrift score because it always cracks me up. All the stuff that you young’uns love is the stuff I had in high school. I used to do crewel work and give it as presents. My college boyfriend had four or five crewel pictures and pillows that I gave him!

Hi Cassie! Thank you so much for including me! What incredible finds ?! The room with the map and campaign dresser is great, especially since I just put a campaign nightstand in my sons room painted a similar blue!

I can’t wait until next week to play again next week!

Emmy is going to be an unstoppable design chick. If she’s this in tune with it now, just imagine what she’ll be like when she’s older! I’m so excited for your chicken coop I!!! My father-in-law recently put one in and I am so looking forward to the kids getting involved the next time we visit him. There is the best Instagram account I have been following, I think it’s called @pooponmyboots. She posts the most beautiful images of her chickens and ducks. I think you’d love it.
