Thrift Score Thursday: Plant Sale

It’s Thrift Score Thursday, and today I am going to show you a sweet deal I found that was not at the thrift store, or even a yard sale.thrift-score-thursday-main-imagePinIf you are new here, let me explain just what #thriftscorethursday is.  We want you to participate! Hit up your local thrift stores, craigslist, yard sales, estate sales, side of the road, anything! Thrifty doesn’t necessarily mean from a thrift store. We want to see your good deals, wacky finds and treasures.

Don’t feel like you need to save those finds for Thursdays! Yes, features are shared on our blogs and Instagram on Thursdays, but we’re all checking in on (and using!) the hashtag all week long. So, when you see/find it, feel free to share it!  And we love it when you tag your friends to play along, too!

Each week Brynne from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Cassie Bustamante, Corinna from For A Designer at Home,  Maggie from Maggie Overby Studios, and  once monthly a guest co-host will pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with#thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.

So today I have a different kind of thrifty find to share.  This past weekend Emmy and I headed out to my favorite local garden center in search of some gourds, pumpkins, and Indian corn so that I could bring you a Fall tour next week.  (Apparently, I think it’s not Fall unless you have those items.)  While we were at the center we noticed “House Plant Sale!” signs.  And let me tell you, Emmy is my daughter, through and through.  She was ecstatic, looking for the best plants at the best deal.  She found me three sweet little ferns for $1-$2 each!  Check out these cuties!

This guy was the $1 find, and he seems pretty happy on my kitchen shelf, which is perfect because I had tried another plant there, but he was looking very sad.  So now everyone’s happy.little-fern-on-kitchen-open-shelvingPinAnd I took home two of these guys for just $2 each.  I love how they bring fresh color to the living room.fall-coffee-table-styling-eclectic-antlersPinAnd while we’re here, you can have a little peek at what’s going on for next week’s Fall tour. 😉  And don’t worry, I’ll be dusting the coffee table off before then.  Just keeping it real, folks.fall-boho-coffee-table-stylingPinMy absolute favorite new plant is this hanging plant which cost me only $10! For a plant this size and in such great shape, it was a steal. Hanging-Plant-and-chicken-coopPinFor now it’s hanging out on my porch until I get a ceiling hook installed for it.

Now let me show you what caught my eye this week when I scanned the #thriftscorethursday tag.

Jen shared this gorgeous deep teal dresser she breathed new life into after finding it for $10!tst-blissfully_eclecticPin

K shared this Ikea lamp that she found on the curb after her neighbor chucked it… what?  I have the same one but I had to go to Ikea and buy it.  Sigh.tst-kberno3Pin

Now head on over to see what my cohosts have found and featured today.

I will be back next week with more thrifted greatness.  Until then, happy hunting!

I can’t resist a bargain plant. We have a local farmers market that always has great ones…The hardest part is deciding which one to buy. Love that blue dresser!

I saw that gold pig too atop Jen’s blue dresser and thought, oh my goodness! my piggie loving 6 year old daughter would LOVE that!! And I love the plants. Wanting to bring more green into my house for the fall/winter when it gets too bleak outside. Might have to hit up my new favorite greenhouse this weekend…
