It’s time for Thrift Score Thursday!

thrift score thursday11Pin

We want you to participate! Hit up your local thrift stores, craigslist, yard sales, estate sales, side of the road, anything! Thrifty doesn’t necessarily mean from a thrift store. We want to see your good deals, wacky finds and treasures.

Don’t feel like you need to save those finds for Thursdays! Yes, features are shared on our blogs and Instagram on Thursdays, but we’re all checking in on (and using!) the hashtag all week long. So, when you see/find it, feel free to share it!

Each week, Trisha from Black and White Obsession, Cassie from Primitive and Proper,Corinna from For My Love Of, Brynne from The Gathered Home and a weekly guest co-host will pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with#thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.

This week we have Ariel from PMQ for Two as guest host!  Ariel is a first timer here, and we are so excited to have her!

I headed out to my thrift shops yesterday with high hopes, and didn’t find much, but stopped at a little antique store on my way home.  Many of the dealers there were having sales, and this one dealer had 20% off everything, and an extra 5% off if you paid cash.  I found these fun vintage mirrored birds for $15, so I ended up getting them for just over $11!  I haven’t decided if they will stay home with me for the holidays or if they will head to Sweet Clover for the holidays. For now, I set them on my dining table…

I have never seen anything like them before!  One of them needs a little love on his tail, but how unique and unexpected!  I love their quirk factor.  But I do wish their creepy little chicken legs were white.IMG_8099Pin

Now let’s get to the features.  So many good things that caught my eye!

How fun are these little brass owls that Melissa scored?  I loved her story of who she purchased them from, too!

Next up is this fantastic pair of chairs Doug found and wanted to give to me.  Ok I made that last part up, but Doug… if you want to, I am here.

And lastly, how awesome is this candelier that Robert found!  He found it as a bunch of iron bound together, but saw “Sweden” stamped on it and tristed his thrifting nose to get a great score!

That’s all my features this week…. Be sure to make the rounds and visit my cohorts… or cohosts… to see their finds and features!

Gosh, those disco birds are so incredible! I’ve never seen anything like them! I’m thinking those legs could be easily painted, but what about something soft blue like the color you used for the dining room sideboard? You know, when you have the free time to spend doing something like that 😀

Oh Cassie those birds look beautiful with your decor. I would love to happen upon some like it. The quirk factor is a thumbs up, even with creepy chicken legs.

White chicken legs for sure! Maybe a dab of craft paint?! Disco birdies definitely add a little unexpected quirk!
