It’s time for Thrift Score Thursday!thrift score thursday12PinIf you are new here, let me explain just what #thriftscorethursday is.  We want you to participate! Hit up your local thrift stores, craigslist, yard sales, estate sales, side of the road, anything! Thrifty doesn’t necessarily mean from a thrift store. We want to see your good deals, wacky finds and treasures.

Don’t feel like you need to save those finds for Thursdays! Yes, features are shared on our blogs and Instagram on Thursdays, but we’re all checking in on (and using!) the hashtag all week long. So, when you see/find it, feel free to share it!  And we love it when you tag your friends to play along, too!

Each week Brynne from The Gathered Home, Cassie from Primitive and Proper, Corinna from For A Designer at Home,  Maggie from Maggie Overby Studios, and  once monthly a guest co-host will pick a favorite thrift score or two to feature! So please note that by linking up with#thriftscorethursday, you are giving us permission to share your finds via social media or on our blogs.

My find is a fun summery find for my porch.  I may end up hanging them inside somewhere, but I am not sure where.  When I was out shopping and finding Mexican inspired textiles, I came across these fun straw sunbursts and had to take them home.  I decided to add them to my porch for Summer & Fall.  I thought they’d be great for the seasonal transition.Straw Sunbursts on Boho PorchPinAgainst the brick they look rather bland, and you may be wondering if I will paint them.  Nope… I prefer the natural look and one day I dream of painting the whole house, so then they’d look better.  (If I still have them at that time, of course!)Straw SunburstsPinAnd they would also look fan turned into mirrors, so that’s a future possibility as well.Straw Sunbursts on Boho PorchPinNow let me show you what caught my eye this week!

I always love a great vintage rug find, but Bess won me over because the colors in her rug are just beautiful  And it’s cat approved.tst besstrotterPinNicole found this candy cart which is going to be used as wedding decor for her upcoming nuptials.  I love that idea!  And I actually think it would make a great dining or kitchen statement piece after…. Style as a bar cart and hang some plants from those hooks!tst design_it_vintagePinClaire found a new to her dining table and chairs through craigslist.  It’s a great find and fits perfectly in her beautiful space.  Can we talk about those shelves?  tst instaclaire1PinJanel scored a deal on this 10×14 vintage rug simply because she is kind and respectful and smiles… seriously.  Head over to read her tips on that post!tst mesavintagePinOh I can’t help myself when you guys share seascape art.  Shelby found this awesome paint by number and is keeping it for herself.  However, should she decide to part with it, perhaps you’ll find it in her etsy shop one day.  Unless I have inside dibs… 😉 (I don’t, just so you know!)tst shelby goodmanPinAnd last but not least, Whitney recently moved this thrifted dresser into her son Stetson’s room and isn’t it just the most perfect piece?  And that wallpaper is beautiful!tst heavythreadsPinNow head on over to see what goodness my cohosts found and are featuring!

Thrift Score Thursday MaggiePinHead’s up that I am taking next week off from the blog to spend a little time with the family before Summer’s over, head back to the poultry swap, and fill up that henhouse, and celebrate Sawyer’s 11th birthday (on the same day that I’ll be toasting 38 magical years, the last 11 as my role of mom being the best!)  See you back in a couple of weeks!

Those starburst hangings are so fun! I vote yes, add a little mirror to the center! And your features are so good – I’m wishing we didn’t have plush carpet throughout the house so I could add some more colorful rugs around here!!

I love the funky texture of the sunburst! With some spray sealer, I bet they would hold up well all year round.

I want to paint my house, too. We also have a brick :/
