Hi friends! I am happy to once again be joining forces with my friends Brenda, Susan, and Cristina for our monthly Creative DIY Team installation. This month the theme was outdoor entertaining and I chose to bring you a thrifted boho summer porch tablescape. Or perhaps I should say the tablescape chose me… you see I don’t really do a lot of entertaining these days. Life is pretty busy so when I do have time at home, I most often prefer to spend it with my family- Chris, Sawyer, and Emmy. We don’t exactly dress the table, I don’t make fancy drinks, and we just don’t serve on any fancy dishes. So with the theme of outdoor entertaining I was a bit stumped at first. However, because of the nature of my job, owning a vintage store, I am always on the hunt and I came across some pieces which inspired a thrifty table.Shop the look:
You might recall from my porch tour that I already had thrifted milk glass vessels and plants as well as an old tapestry I acquired about 12 years ago while working at J. Crew. So this table was rather easy to put together drawing color inspiration as from that in blues and greens. I was out a couple Fridays ago at a yard sale and came across some funky bamboo rings and knew I could use them. (Similar here). Emmy was happy to help me create the table and rolled the napkins and placed them in the rings. While setting up my shop for this month’s sale, I also recalled the green glass goblets I had there. I took them home so I could add them to the mix. I brought them back to the shop, but now I am thinking they should just come back home. 😉 If you’re looking for something similar, I found these on etsy– or these– there are actually tons of options.
I already own blue and white everyday dishes from Ikea, and had some blue napkins on hand as well.
The final touch came in some fern clusters from Dollar Tree. I showed Emmy how to pop the individual ferns off cluster and used them for the table setting. The stems each had several as you can see here. Emmy is holding a total of three.
Emmy was anxious to help and I love having her involved in my projects when possible. I laid out the plates and goblets, and she placed a fern on the top plate, rolled all of the napkins and placed those on top of the ferns.
This table was so simple and inexpensive to put together, but has the perfect vibe for our porch.

Everything on the table just fits in perfectly with all of the tropical plants currently residing on the porch. The colors on this table make me so happy… What is it about blues and greens?
We’ve lived in this house for almost 5 years and I finally have the look I want on this porch- it’s eclectic, fun, and a little funky.
