Wednesday Meanderings

Hay guys!  It’s Wednesday and I have a random collection of thoughts and things that have just made me happy over the last few weeks that I wanted to share with you…. so Wednesday meanderings it is. This post is going to be all over the place, but then again, so is my usual train of thought.

First of all, Chris and I head to Seattle tomorrow without kids!  Hallelujah!  We’ve been planning to get away for a while and it’s just never worked out… life happens and things come up.  The stars finally aligned and we booked it faster than you can say Pike’s Place Market.  We’re going to have so much fun exploring the city, and I am bringing my camera so I can capture and share.  The folks at Shop Anaya were kind enough to provide me with the perfect leather camera bag that is going to also be my carryon.  It converts to a backpack as well, so it will be really easy to carry around Seattle.  We’ll be doing a giveaway later on as well, so stay tuned!  You can see my India leather bag hanging on my accordion rack in my bedroom awaiting travel…

I love listening to podcasts to pass the time.  Recently, I’ve become hooked to The Moth podcast which features real stories told me the people who lived them.  There are a huge variety of short stories from humorous to emotional.  I listened last week as I raked my lawn, and both cried and laughed out there while raking by myself… I am sure it was a sight to see.  Some of my favorite stories came from their 2016 holiday special.

Have you heard of the Kindness Diaries?  I recently started watching the show on Netflix (there’s a book, too, which I just learned!) and it has inspired me to believe in humanity as well as try to do more for others.  Liam left his desk job to travel the world on a moped relying on the kindness of others for food, shelter, gas money, and does his own beautifully wonderful deeds along the way.  If you’re looking for something to move you in a very good way, this is the show to watch- it’s also a great show to watch with the family.  Check out the trailer here:

The makers of Java Skin Care sent me a box of their body collection plus a lip scrub to thank me for sharing it in a holiday gift post.  These products are organic and coffee-infused… they smell amazing and feel fabulous on my skin.  My favorite item is the body wash which features a sweet almond fragrance I love.  If you love coffee and a little pampering, check them out!

I showed you the awesome jackalope I bought Chris last week for Valentine’s Day, but I wanted to show you what we gave Emmy as well, only because it might bring you back.  Did you ever have a Caboodle?  I did, and Emmy’s at the age where she loves nail polish, lip gloss, and all that fun stuff, so we got her a classic Caboodle from Amazon.  I kind of want one for me now, too.

Last week when we hosted a book swap someone brought over this fun “Women Who Changed History” paper doll book, and Emmy took it.  I just thought it was a really neat idea for paper dolls and wanted to share.

Thank you for bearing with me through my random thoughts I had gathered up to share with you. If you have any tips or must-dos or must-eats for Seattle, let me know!

I’m so excited on your behalf about the Seattle trip! Hope you’re having an amazing time! And those paper dolls are super cool. I don’t have any kids interested in paper dolls, so maybe I need to get them for myself 😉
