My best friend from High School took the plunge this weekend….
Everything was just beautiful and the weather couldn’t have been better. Thursday night, we went to the rehearsal and then out on a schooner cruise before the rehearsal dinner. Check them out- aren’t they such a gorgeous and glamorous couple? I took this picture on the cruise and everyone called it “The Ralph Lauren Shot”.
The day of the wedding, I went for a run in the morning along the ocean, because how often do I get to do that? Then my husband and I took a walk around Fort Adams, named after President John Adams. It was a fort built to protect the Newport, well, port. I forgot to take pictures of it! Then he headed off to golf, while I got ready with the girls, lots of hair being done, makeup being applied, and drinks being had!
Once we were all ready, I drove Jen and Chris around with the photographer to get some great pictures. We did wedding party pics before the wedding, so that we’d have more time to be social after the ceremony. The photographer was kind enough to tell me I could take pictures. He was amazing, and is based out of Oklahoma. He ran out of business cards, but I will be sure to give you all his website when I have it! Here are some of the shots I took down by the water, and of course the first one, which was actually where the photographer was leading them down to a lower spot for pictures, but from where I was it looked like they were jumping and I just loved it!
And I had a rare chance to get some pictures with my husband while we were dressed up….
I danced all night, cried tears of joy, and just enjoyed the entire experience.
Saturday, Chris and I spend the day walking around Newport, shopping, and walking the cliff walk, where we got to see all the famous mansions, including the Vanderbilt’s old “Summer Home”. (The first image below)
Every time I head to New England I miss it more, and want to move back. It’s beautiful, full of history and charm. Thanks, Jen, for a wonderful weekend. Wishing you and Chris the best time in Italy and a lifetime of happiness!
