Yesterday’s Sideboard, and a Winner!

So yesterday I picked up a gorgeous sideboard.  Remember this one?

I went straight to work on it, using Annie Sloan chalk paint.  What color?  Well, all I had on hand was henrietta pink, greek blue, a smidgen of duck egg blue, and old white that i needed for a custom order.  So I mixed some greek blue into what I had left of the duck egg blue and invented greek egg blue. 🙂  It really just turned out to be a toned down version of the greek blue, but still bold.  I knew I wanted something bold to make the pretty hardware stand out!  I gave it two coats, distressed it, and waxed it.  And here it is now!

Also, I forgot to announce the winner of the Sodderbug Giveaway!  The winner is… lucky number #21, Amy from My Sun Shines Here! Congrats, Amy!

And if you didn’t win, but would like to order one, please visit Sodderbug to get your own custom phot necklace made!

Happy Sunday!

I love the dresser. And I love the new color…greek egg blue! This piece would look awesome in a dining room as a buffet (I seem to say that about a lot of your pieces…maybe I’m projecting because I would LOVE to have this piece in my dining room!).

Oooohhhh, this is FABULOUS!! I have a sideboard all stripped and sanded and ready to finish, and had thought about doing it in blue, but just wasn’t sure whether I could live with it every day…but after seeing THIS, I think I CAN!!

    Thank you for the inspiration!

I love it! I would like to do something similar to make a bar cabinet, but I need more of the taller cupboard space and less of the drawers…anyone know of a way to store glassware in a drawer easily with some kind of seperators? Then I could keep the bottles in the door part…I’m not a lush, really, I’m not…

    love that piece!

I have a request, cassie- if you do a post this week about Luckett’s, would you consider also posting some basics for us first-timers? Like, should I bring only cash, or if I fall in love with something will some vendors accept checks/ cards? and will some of the vendors deliver post-Luckett’s? are there any “insider” tips that it would be good to know about before-hand?

    Thanks so much!
