You Can’t Stop Love- Don’t Even Try!

Note: I am sharing this link at HOUSEography, but some updates have been made.  The master bedroom now has some fun summer bedding, as well as new matching vintage nightstands which can be seen here.

Yesterday I showed you a mid-century dresser I painted in just a clean fresh white, and then proceeded to fall in love with.  But it was too big for my tiny master bedroom.
Well, we have been Spring cleaning the house this weekend (or I should say I have been Spring cleaning while Chris handled the kiddos) and while I was in my bedroom this morning, I thunk and I thunk til my thunker CAME UP WITH PLAN B!  I realized, there might just be a way for that dresser of my heart’s desire to fit into our bedroom.
So while Chris was with the kids, I am sure he wondered what all the noise was upstairs.  Yes, it was me moving furniture on my own and crossing my fingers and finding a way.  We also sold our bed yesterday which gave us more room at the foot of the bed which allowed for a deeper dresser (the mid century dresser!) on the wall opposite the bed.  So I rearranged what I could and then enlisted Chris’ help to move the big hulking sexy white beast into our bedroom.  And it worked!  I am so happy.  I moved my narrow vintage child’s dresser to where the blue dresser was, and the blue dresser will be headed to the Luckett’s Market in May.  So here is what the room looked like before the dresser graced us with its presence….

PinAnd now…. I love love it!  I have plans for a headboard and am searching for new nightstands, and want to bring in a hint of the colors I showed you the other day-  dusty aqua, and “golden delicious”, but otherwise, I am quite enjoying thw white on white with gray- it is very relaxing!  What do you think?  Oh, and I know I need to recenter the mirror. 🙂  And pardon the bits of lint on my rug from laundry folding…

These photos were all taken tonight with not the greatest lighting, but I couldn’t wait- I was too excited and happy.
Once we got all the furniture moved, we had a wonderful family night complete with pizza, a movie, and snuggles on the couch.  Toy Story 3 was the movie tonight.  There is nothing greater than sitting under a blanket on the chaise with a kid snuggled on either side of me.  It’s the best!

Awesome!! You sound like me! I would have done the same thing while the hubby wrangled the kiddos. Is it weird to be in love with some one else’s room? Cuz I’m head over heels! Gorgeous! Movie night is fun, especially the snuggling part 🙂

Success! I tried moving our bedroom furniture around only to discover that how we have it is the only way it will fit. Oops, at least I got a good deep-clean in. I’m loving your white-on-white look, but I’m wondering how a super saturated greenish blue would look on the walls. I love saturated colors contrasted with white. Can’t wait to see what you come up with for the headboard. It was on my to-do list this weekend, but work got in the way…

Looking at the photos again and I really want to turn your bed so the head is in the corner and it’s diagonally into the room. Does it fit that way? I’m obsessed with moving furniture, I think I’m going into withdrawal in this house where our stuff reall only fits one way 😉
