A Young Girl’s Bedroom Set

First of all, happy Valentine’s Day!  We have just placed an order for sushi, and are sipping wine and relaxing tonight.  I like to spend special holidays in my pj’s.  It’s the best!  And of course we started the day off right with pink heart shaped pancakes for the kiddos and ended it with a heart shaped pizza for them.  I am not huge on Valentine’s day, but I do want to make it special always for my kids.

Anywho… I am happy to say that I am pretty booked with custom orders for a while, and am just wrapping up an order for a client here in Severna Park.  Joanna has two daughters and a little boy.  The girls were sharing a room but have gotten to the point of needing their own spaces.  Fortunately, Joanna had her own childhood furniture ready and waiting in the wings.  It just needed some fresh paint!  Here are the before shots she sent me… (and I hope these pictures show up!!!  I am having issues saving them, so I copy and pasted…)

She wanted everything painted with a fresh warm white in semigloss.  Since it was for her little girl, I also wanted it to be safe and healthy, so I sanded it all, and primed it with Kilz Clean Start.  I used Sherwin Williams Harmony zero VOC paint in “Greek Villa”.  I love this white- it is warm and not too bright.  I also changed the hardware on the nightstand and desk to some lovely crystal knobs from Anthro.  The bed is currently being worked on, but the rest of it has been delivered to its new room, which has also just been painted a gorgeous aqua!  Joanna promises to send pictures of it all put together, but for now, here are my after shots!

The dresser is my favorite!!!  I love it!  Joanna, thanks for letting me work on your daughter’s furniture!  Good luck to her in her new room!

All that furniture will be so perfect for her daughter! Looks awesome as always! Hey, wanted to suggest something for Sawyer…I bought a Star Wars cookbook for my boys when they were younger, I think I bought it at Barnes and Nobles or Amazon…the author is Robin Daivs..I’m going to email you a photo of it..Sawyer would probably love making things from it. Happy V-day

Everything looks so crisp and clean. The dresser is my favorite too. The knobs are perfect! I have to tell you I am eyeing the shabby chairs in the background. Do you put planters in those during the summer?

    Yummy to your sushi…Have a great night….
